OMG...tell me you're joking.
first of all the whole auto Gt and auto GTS myth has been debunked.there was a race held by CaliGTS and the auto GT lost...BAD. a auto GT stock can run 17.1, a stock auto gts has run 16.9 (check msn.com)
second-it's a 2ZZ engine. it would react the same way any 2zz would react.gearing is why the auto gts can supposedly lose to the auto gt.
third-don't listen to everything you hear. guys over at N.C. are pure performance guys and frown at anything auto...again this myth has already been debunked.
I agree with everything that you are saying but 0.2 seconds? Thats not that big of a difference for that 40 horsepower jump. Im just saying that horsepower number seems misleading.

I TOTALLY AGREE! that auto gts gearing is horrible...why toyota made a 4-speed auto with a high revving engine that hits lifts at 6200 and ends at 7800 is beyond me... spineyes

Alright I did some research and found it is illegal to have in a car, but there is a catch you can have it on a public road if the bottle is disconnected from the system. I am not sure what state this is for but I its probally the same for all states

Ok there are different ways to look at this, Yes Nitrous is illegal to use on public roads but not illegal to posses in a car which is prolly the reason I did not get a ticket for in MN. So this is right and wrong but it somewhat explains the reason me not getting a ticket for possesing it in my car. It is Obviously Illegal to use on public roads which I already knew, I was trying to come across that you can have it in a car which is proven now.

ok if you didn't notice its been days since anybody has posted anything, besides nobody was fighting we were both just trying prove a point. And last time I checked you don't spell "ghey" with a H so I guess that makes you the 2nd grader. So go back to school and learn how to spell.

I'm also looking at a ZEX kit. I would do a dry shot if I knew it would work with our cars and was safe, but ZEX doesn't list a dry kit as being compatible--they only show the wet kit. NX doesn't even make dry kits, because they are convinced wet is better, so at this point if I do install nitrous, I imagine I'll go with the wet shot.

As far as the legality of nitrous, the link posted earlier was informal comments specifically related to California. The rule seems to be that anything that is not explicity approved via CARB/DOT approval is not legal. Therefore, the exact same product (header, for example) can be legal from one company (DC Sports) and illegal from another company (Hotshot). It doesn't appear that many companies have tried to get a rubber stamp on their nitrous kits, so technically they are for "off road" use only. However...

"Q: Does NOS manufacture 50-state legal nitrous systems?
A: Yes. In fact, NOS has several EO numbers for various kits such as the 5.0L Mustang and 305/350 GM V8's, etc. In addition, there is no need to remove any smog equipment when installing an NOS system. For more information call the NOS tech line." (from www.holley.com [holley.com])

This would appear to indicate that it's not necessarily illegal to use nitrous on the street, but the laws may still vary by state.

if a person is worried about the law that the bottle must be disconnected AND wants to run nitrous on the street for "testing" purposes, THEN the solution is clear:

Have a fake disconnected bottle in plain sight AND a real connected bottle that is hidden, for example in a subwoofer box or in the spare tire recess.

or you can just hide the bottle very well and claim no bottle is in the car, and have empty brackets for the missing bottle.

btw, if a cop knows what he is doing (SD cops are going to school for this) he will know to look around the intake for a nitrous nozzle, as well as a EO Carb # of course. So considering this you better have your real bottle hidden.
