I've been told that there is a govenor chip on the 02 and up models of the celica gts and that its supposed to cut off your rev limit, which means it would cut of your lift time and max. speed? is this true? I don't know anything bout govenor chips @.@

The 02 rev limiter is set at 7850 RPM (or thereabouts). The 00-01 and 03+ models don't have this.

It won't limit your top speed, but will limit your time in lift. spineyes

ooo... so only the 2002 models have a rev limiter and not the 2003+ models? thats funny. Why put the chip on for a year, then take it out? gayness.

There's a way to bypass it on the '02 models, isn't there? confused

Ahh, found it. You can bypass it, but it involves several hours and swapping for 2000-2001 parts tongue
