The upper end is nice. I was more concerned with the lower end which is where the biggest improvement is. I wasnt expecting the power to kick in right when you push the pedal but it does. That thing screeches like a mother and flies. thumbsup So yeah the upper end is nice but I cant really say what you are looking for. Dont expect it to be better than the lower end though, at least on my car its not.

ps

the gains for the trd supercharger were at least 40

SLVCELI only wanted a little hp

you can tune this s/c to get more than 40 though

i found all this info when i typed in trd supercharger specifivations in search bar

and now that im seein this costed 3700
im thinkin itl be cheaper by about a thousand to do the 3sgte swap for 255 hp and nice torque
its an iron block too that comes with turbo

i wish i could find a low mileage tranny 5sfe or mr2 90-93

I doubt your going to be able to do the swap for under 4 thousand. When I heard people talk about that swap I heard around 10-15 thousand . Maybe Im thinking about another swap though.

The supercharger on the matrix added around 30 whp so it is strange that I got 20 whp. I have read all the reviews and looked into just about everything written on it so I guess I was only expected 30 whp anyways and noone else really knew about how the peak horsepower number was not all that great. From the reviews of matrix and corolla sc's it seems as if my low end is much better than theirs but from the dyno it looks like my high-end is not as good for some reason. It really is perfect for my driving style thumbsup

With a smaller pulley maybe up to about 9 psi. I think the psi is really around 6.5 right now. After I took it for a test drive and was about to leave, Matt said he could easily put a different pulley on but I told him it was plenty of power and I probably wouldnt want to. If you are thinking about this supercharger I would def. contact Matt at MWR. thumbsup

Michigan near Detroit. I drove four hours to get there amd im glad because I know no other place could have hooked it all up. We sthad to wait a whole day to get throttle body and belt (still cant believe he got it so fast) and still finish in time with the results that I feel.

I was thinking about thinning the sides out to try and fit it but the carbon fiber would go to hell. The sides would be so thin I dont even know if it would look good. But besides that, yeah.

for anyone's information...a car and driver article called "boost' had THE trd supercharged 5-speed GT. with a widebody kit and 18s it ran a 14.7!!! can you imagine without the widebody and regular 15s?? plus it out ran their 6-speed gts 1/4 mile run at 15.4...

so i have no doubt that silvceli could be running faster than what the dyno tells rice

SLVCELI,
That's awesome. Very nice work. Are you and the TRD Celica the only ones with this supercharger? I don't think I have seen another one.

umm if your referring to just the TRD SC then no...the pic you posted was during the TMS/TRD Meet...mostly Matrix, MR2, and a few other cars...many people have this SC..mostly the matrix owners.

TRD says you cannot use an intake with the supercharger. I have heard that it will blow out the cat (exhaust part). If you use it you should at the very least have 93 octane gas and I would say use water injection to get more horsepower on top. I didnt want the intake since I was the guinea pig and we didnt even know if it works. Matrix owners that have it said it added almost 10 whp but the Very low end was not quite as responsive. I think you will like how it looks with all my plastics in their. Isnt the celica and matrix exhaust system completely different though? I dont want to influence anyone to try it but I do think the exhaust system is different in our cars.

I talked to Matt and he said the intercooler would not work with this supercharger. I dont know if this would work for the celica but check this out for the water injection http://www.matrixowners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18935&start=0

Matt said I was running 3-5.5 psi. Matrix owners have said the supercharger makes 6.5 to 7.5 psi so I am gonna check my bypass valve and make sure its working right. Apparently a few matrix owners bypass valves needed to be adjusted so I am gonna check mine.

I am gonna adjust the bypass valve either tonight or tomorrow and see if that works. If not I heard I could just buy a 60 dollar replacement part and get it up and running. If it really is running that low, then the supercharger is only running around 70 % right now eek
