Question for those running Short Ram Intakes; Do they suffer from bogs and throw CEL's like CAI sometimes do?

most CAI's give CEL's because of improperly placed MAF sensor. i doubt this problem is exclusive to CAI's. and i believe bogging is caused by moisture, such as water from puddles, similar to hydro- or vapor-lock, just less severe.

Bogging is caused by inaccurate readings from the mafs. The pipe in most aftermarket CAI's are not designed for the maf sensor to read accurately, therefore causing bogging. Severity of this throws a CEL and causes the engine to run rich in protection.

Interesting, modified in what way?

When I had my Injen CAI on I thought about fabricating some kind of plastic insert that would fit around the MAF to make the opening the same size as the stock air box, maybe some fins as well so the MAF would produce more accurate readings; never got around to it.

My guess would be that since most SRI's are the same diameter as the CAI's that the SRI's might suffer from the same occasional bogs and CELs.

I was hoping to hear some more feedback from actual SRI users.

I had my SRI for 2 weeks now and it hasn't given me a problem since it was first installed.
I had the CEL on. But after resetting the ECU it was fine
