Nobody ever tried to race me in my eclipse. But in the two days that I've had my celica three people have tried to get a piece of it. One four door accord with a fart box and on Hyundai Accent with a fart box and a busted up rear bumper. I cant wait until I hit 500 on the odo and start passing out ownage.

Yeah teh celi attracts a lot of attention...i've had it a few months and many people wanted to race me...and just today i saw my 55 year old british literature teacher checking my car out after school! And our senior superlatives include 'nicest car'...and out of all the nice muscle cars and stuff we have at our school...the top two were me and a friend of mine...she has a 2003 celi GTS...our pic is gonna be hot

we also have a slight reputation for being a slow chick's car...

I honestly wonder if ricers really believe their car is very fast or if deep down they know it's slow. If it's the latter, that may be why they try to pick on the Celica.

Is it just me or is every intergra i see a ricer? seriously its annoying.

i would have to say that i like integras but yes the people that are driving them are asses-i did race a nice serious one though and i got beat due to him having a turbo but would have to say that my auto celly kept up pretty good i was at the rear window pretty much the whole time we wnet from a red light to probably a half mile down the rd until i had to salm on my brakes from someone pulling out in front of me i will be a little more careful going 100 in a 25-lol

yes, the celica gets lots of attention...both good and bad...and yes the power it puts down is about the equivalent of a hampster in an exercise ball, when compared to other cars that are just as agressively STYLED (EVO)...oh and by the by...it takes a lot of time and dedication to reach the APC sticker level of ricer...one must really put effort into adding tasteless things to one's car, and then, and only then my young grasshoppers, will one be allowed to join the top tier of ricer ranks and receive their

I am not calling BS but you have a auto gts, the slowest celica made, and you kept up with a turbo integra? The gts can barely beat a gsr. but maybe the driver sucked.

also-- i do not consider myself a ricer ut i may be wrong, i do drive a civic which many fags drive with APC and PR RACING stickers from auto zone but i am proud to say that i do not own any of those. the only stickers i have is from THE SHOP(local car audio and performance shop) where i got my system. And i do not think brand stickers add 10HP
i realize my car is slow and thats why i am saving for a faster one. I dont try and race any cars i just upgraded sound n looks so would i be considered a ricer just because of my looks even tho i dont try n race at all or am i cool?? lol leave comments please

Obviously, Civics CAN be modified to be fast, but they have their reputation because there's a lot out there with just rice mods.

i use to have an integra..i think i was a bit of a ricer..but i've moved on to a better car now..CELICA all the way i juss hope i don't make the mistakes i did from back then. this site is helpin me do that

yes, very much so. aggressive rear spoiler that overpowers the rest of the car. but your rear-wheel downforce must have been amazing, helping you take all those mustangs off the line and such.

well for one thing i am not bs anyone i have no reason to do that but whoever said the gts auto is the slowest celica made never heard of a gt celica and i didnt really keep up but i was at the back of the car so i was just saying my celly did pretty good it may have been a base model with a turbo which could explain why i kept by it i mean a bas e model with a turbo is probably not over 200 hp as far as i know

so if a integra is a ricers car and so is a civic..whats a civic with an interga motor called?? thats the only way i'd get a civic..do a motor swap, shave emblems, and keep it a sleeper...in my opinion, a clean civic with no crazy mods, i.e. stickers, wings, body kits, is tight. the only civics i like are the 98-00 vtec models. they have a clean jdm look stock i think. or how bout a 98 civic with rsx front conversion? that looks bad ass...

Yeah some of the civics do look nice. but I hate red civics that are lowered all the way till it scrapes the road everytime you go from a red light

What you said is complete ignorance, and shows no knowledge of the celica. Anyone that knows anything about celicas will tell you that the auto is slower because of the powerband. The auto does not let you keep the car in lift.

I dont think so, The only power advantage the GTS gets is after 6k, and the auto cannot keep the car in the sweet spot long enough to make a difference in speed. SORRY TO SAY THE AUTO GTS IS THE SLOWEST CELICA MADE.

Once again would the torque converter to 3.5K help?

3500 Stall torque converter would help take off but it'd be harder on the transmisson but I don't think it'd help you stay in lift.

This is a fact... The newer 7th gen Celicas call a lot attention upon themselves.
I mostly disregard it as a Canadians, but if it's the long arm of the law you can't and they love the Celica. Other than that, everyone wants a piece. I gave up a while ago whipping everything in site because I own a car that can out handle and out brake many cars on the road and more than that I have balls the size of Washinginton's cheeks on the side of Mt. Rushmore which gives me the right to whip cars.
Which I did for years. Never a highway from a roll or a stop light rev, but a back road incursion into unknown territory.
I feel guilty writing about those cars, rarely have, and never will again because I'm still paying for the maintenance on my car for beating them and more important than everything else.

Seeing other people push there cars and themselves into an oblivion just to try to beat me in a street race around turns, corners, and back roads at unGodly speeds. That will let you forget that crap forever.

if you seriously think that an auto GT is faster than an auto GTS, I challenge you to drive one. I've driven both and can tell you that the GTS will be faster. At the point where the GT shifts to second the GTS hits lift (about 40 MPH, assuming ECU controls shifting here). Second gear is what really kills our cars - it's rougly equivalent to a 1-3 shift in the manual. So while I'm bogging in 2nd, the GTS is surging ahead of me in lift. By the time he shifts to second, I'll be lucky to have gotten close to 5000 RPMs (I'd land second at 4000), but guess what: the GTS lands second just under 5000 as well. So we'd approximately stay put (the GTS out in front), then I hit 6000 and shift to 3rd while he surges ahead in lift. At the 1/4 mile we'd probably finish right about now, GTS wins.

Do a search in the racing forums. Someone decided to race their auto GTS against an auto GT, and won.

man all the integras i see here are just flammed out ricer cars, idk if its just mee or what but i never get attention from the ricer kids they usually look over at me and ill look back and theyll just stare forward or stay a car behind me.

well actually it wasn't riced but it was really ugly yellow mustang with turbo... he took off after seeing my car and I was like NO... I'm not racing that thing
