so how many people here are running N20. i've been thinking about purchasing a NX wet kit, and running 35 or 50 shot through my auto GTS. just wondering if anyone has had problems with the high compression that the GTS is running on.

Most of the ppl running f/i on this site decided to turbo it. Theres only a few supers here, too.

most people here think the celica is too classy and stylish to be bothered by something like n20

I've seen as high as 75 shot run reliably on the celica. never seen it on an auto though. I think you're jsut wasting money. thumbsup

I'm not sure about that being a majority opinion w/o taking a poll. N2O is serious stuff of drag racing which even the pros use. It's more than a legitimate way to haul on the drag strip if you don't need the power of a turbo on the street and only go to the track occasionally. for racers looking for power, classy and stylish is not an issue.

why zex? been looking at the different kits out there and thought Nitrous Express looked like a good company. Do you think Zex makes a better kit? Also I think N20 seems like a good way to get a nice boost of power every now and then. I don't need the constant power of a turbo/don't have nearly enough cash right now to do a turbo set-up.

If running a 50 shot, do I just need the basic kit, a bottle warmer and what not, colder plugs and make sure I'm running high octane fuel? Anything else that the GTS engine needs for a safe and reliable set-up?

i meant to slap on a daily driver to street race with, not for people who are serious racers.

anyway all my research has pointed to zex being the best option imo since the bottle pressure makes sure the engine never runs to rich or lean on account of n20 an sure a 75 shot can be done but it is pushing the engine very close to breaking and if this is an everyday driver a 50 will def keep you safe and maybe an occasional turn up to 75 for the track for me i am gonna just start with the wet kit , a purge kit, and a blow down tube since it is mandatory on a race track and if i need a warmer later i may invest in one but this is all you really need to start out with i would suggest zex

you'll also want to run all your saftey switches too for the just in case stuff. there's quite a bit more then you mentioned to have a good safe and reliable setup.

So it activates the nitrous when a certain rpm is reached? Is that right?

i would reccomend nitrous express over zex for sure. i have the nx kit on my mustang and its never been anything but flawless for me. nx has by far the best solonoids, especially the new tru noids. their a lot larger then any other brand also and hit much harder. not to mention they have the best reputation ever in the market as well as life time warranty. because if you have a bad solonoid, forsay it gets stuck open. say good bye, and just call a tow before the smoke from your engine bay makes it too hard to dial. nx is the way to go. purchase a fuel pressure safety switch if you want added safety, it simply shuts down the n20 noid if the fuel pressure becomes too lean. they can be had for like 50 bucks or less depending where you get it. and an rpm window switch is an ignition activated module. companies like msd or nx or holley nos make their own versions. but basicly you hook it up to your tach output on your ignition and purchase seperate pills or dial in the rpm level you prefer. some models also feature a shutdown level as well. so basicly, it senses your car hitting 3000rpm (example) and turns on your nitrous solonoid, it sprays like crazy through the gears etc. this insures its not turned on below 3000rpm where you could have a nitrous backfire due to too low of rpms. you can also set your upper shut off level for say 6500 or somthing below your redline this insures that you dont bounce the rpms off your rev limiter which could also cause some serious problems while spraying. but the switch is simply a broken ground that connects once the rpms are met so you can have it hooked to anything. if youw anted you could hook it up so that when you hit lift it plays some crazy techno music or somthing for all the module cares. kewl devices. im actually here on the board right now to ask a question about install on it cause im not sure how you hook them up with a distributorless ignition.

and if you need any help with what you need for your nitrous install ask away, ive done miles and miles of research and know a reasonable amount about most of the kits and what you'll wanna use for safety and so forth and what you need so hit me up on pm or ask in here and ill try and help best i can smile

typicly the ppl who cry about nitrous are the ones who dont know much about it. its pretty damn safe if its done right. no worse then boosting an na car. ppl just see f&f movies and think their gonna light their block on fire or somthing. its a great power adder and dollar for dollar nothing can come close to it for hp per buck. ppl just do it cheap and expect it to be ok. its not just for hondas either, my friend took his stock mustang from a 15.1 to a 12.7 with less then 1500 invested minus the 3000 dollar lx 5.0, drives it daily reliably for going on 2 years now with no problems and none to be anticipated. not to mention 110k on the odometer. nitrous being used to help spool or just to crank out an extra 150 hp for under 500 bucks is a great toy to run on a 15 second car or an 8 second car. ppl who call it pussy juice n so forth have prolly not spent a ton of time at the track or just hang around with the "street racing" crowd in parking lots and whatever. for 500 bucks to take a car into the twelves (with a few supporting mods of course) its pretty tough to beat. especially when its daily driven and reliable as hell. nitrous owns.

for sure, i could go on for days about the plus sides of nitrous oxide and how many things its done for every level of racing. its been sitting in street sleepers and track car trunks and hatches since your parents day or long before. tried and true and when done right is absolutely safe. ppl are highly misinformed. i suggest to anyone who thinks its dangerous or a dumb mod to get on the net and just do some personal research as its the only way to go. i know when i was younger i had a lot of the same opinions or thought it was cheating and soforth. its not. unless your bracket or classs racing or somthing where its against the rules its not. a gentlemen in my area runs a shot to his 99+ chevy full size mostly just to spool up his t67 under the hood, but used to run just the nitrous and put the thing deep into the 12's on a mostly all stock platform with the original factory tires still on it. hes knocked it down into the tens now and happens to be the fastest 99+ full size truck in the world right here in my part of nebraska. only pushing a 75 pill through it to break it into the 10's too. so ppl who say nitrous is a joke or a dumb idea are just foolish. or that its cheating...please. if nitrous is cheating (a process of increasing the burn in simpler terms inside the cylinder) then so is premium gasoline, because your still just altering the combustability of the fuel/air mixture. so then i suggest everyone who doesnt want to cheat throws a lb of sugar in their gas tank and lets their friends piss in it as well. we wouldnt want it to be too combustable thumbsup

for street use, It's pussy juice tongue That's what ppl get arnd here if they can't make their cars fast on their own tongue I'd prefer to mod the hell out of the all trac rather then have a cheap street win.

I do agree though, that it can be used for the greater good... but for what it's used for arnd here... it's a cheap win thumbsdown

what's wrong with cheap horsepower? is horsepower better when you pay more for your mods? I think nitrous is better for a daily driver cause your not putting as much strain on your car all the time only when you flick the switch and your using less gas than with a SC or a Turbo. the other option for daily driver is SC wich will give you some power straight from the start and our cars are really lacking in low end torque. for racing A turbo would be best cause it gives way more HP than a SC and it's constant. I think nitrous is great if all you want to do is smoke your friends at a stop light every once in a while.

I'm going to have turbo anyway, lol... and I'd rather not kill my engine faster then it will already naturally die. I race for the hell of it, and I don't see wasting money on N2O and then having to go buy more when I'm out if I wanna beat ppl... I'd rather mod my car to where I'd like it to be and just keep the boost down fro daily driving

the "easy win" thing doesnt really hold true. nor does the "build a car up" cliche. ppl say it all the time and i just shrug it off, but for the sake of arguing over the internet and all. its not an easy win. putting a 50 shot on a saturn doesnt mean you win anything. it means the stock z28 next to you still blew your doors off. so the saturn who actually modded their car lost to a 60 year old man driving his wifes lt1 who will never even see an aftermarket set of mufflers. which is the easier win there? exactly. and building a car up or saying its a cheap way to build a car or the easy way. lol no. its not like you dont build cars for nitrous. yeah you can strap on a 50 pill to a celica and run it on a stock engine. but its a shit ton more fun to run a 100 pill on it with forged n balanced internals and dozens of hours on a dyno and so forth. theres entry level and professional ends to anything in racing. turbo is advanced? no. just more expensive. theres entry and professional sides to boosting. buy a 3k greddy kit for your civic and leave at the stock 6 or 7 psi and call it good. stock engine with a turbo. or civic with a 60pill, stock engine with some extra oxidation. whats the difference? one is cheaper? that makes it bad? lol ok, why are you gonna mod an alltrac? if the more expensive it is to go fast then make a lawn tractor run twelves. if its about making it harder and more expensive im sure theres ways to do that. i think they call it kia tuning. all those excuses and cliches hold no water at all. on the alltrac you want yeah, it probably wouldnt be the smartest mod, for a lot of NA cars it definately is. nitrous is intended for the strip and street. turbos are damn great too. but turbos you can rock on the road course etc so if your into that then id say boost. if you drive on the street more, juice. common sense kinda stuff...but those excuses of why ppl think nitrous is dumb are totally unfounded. its just kiddy talk when ppl call it cheater spray or somthing. if its cheater spray then like i said earlier. premium is cheater gas.

well back to the question, im interested to know if using nitrous on an auto on the steet and strip is safe. i personally was thinkin of a smaller shot like 35-50 hp. im sure if you dont go up and down the street and spray everytime you see a long shot, ur engine should be fine, correct?

yeah man, your fine mashin the juice on ur auto. turn your overdrive off when your using it as its kinda hard on it. mind your rev limiter if you dont decide to use a window switch. it will improve your performance significantly. not gonna turn you into a vette killer, but it will change the way your car pulls 100%. just think of it along the lines of if your car is 140hp crank right now you'd be adding in a range of 30% more horsepower and having your car pull 1/3 quicker. dont let people discourage you, do the nitrous and maybe eventully work your way up to a stall for 3000 rpms or so and spray her out of the hole as close as you can. it will haul reasonably, and it will spin about as much as a manual when your putting 190crank hp down as you launch. (maybe not quite as much since its lower in the band) but at the same time a gts puts down 180 crank approximately and its only that high when its in lift, otherwise it pulls similar to a gt but with less torque available. so you will definately enjoy it. it will be fine with your auto also, most of your mustangs and camaros and whathave you all rock the auto tranny right? so its not a big deal. the celicas tranny is fairly solid so you'll be fine, if your sweating it, consider a tranny temp gauge or even an oil cooler for your transmission.

heres the truck i was talkin about for anyone curious. its the best candidate i can give for nitrous advertisment. full size chevy, he ran a 100 pill with a stall, launching in 4wd spraying like hell out of the hole, nx efi kit with genx2 upgrade kit, and some gauges, and a fuel pump. less then 1400 invested id assume. stock truck down to the air box and stock tires from the dealership. ran 12's with a 500 dollar nitrous kit. (nitrous sucks apparently cause its cheap or too easy) blah, dont let anyone discourage you from juicing your celica cause its not worth it or its an auto etc. your auto with nitrous will still be faster then the guys with the gts 6spds that say its not worth it cauase their just talking and still stock and your not, and on the street or strip or wherever you do your thing, thats what matters is who talks and who does things. that truck by the way is still on some all season fire stones that he uses at the strip, stock airbox exhaust bock heads etc etc. he's swapping it out eventully but for this clip, he has the mods that are listed on the video and pretty much ONLY those mods.

riiiiiiiiigggggghhhhhttttttt 12's from just nitrous?

how about, T67 turbo, 6.0L engine, dual stage nitrous, and some kinda ecu for tuning.

12.18 with no nitrous, 10 psi

11.4 13 psi and 35 shot

10.91 with 13 psi and 75 shot

thats a WHOLE lot more then $500. ya need to get your story straight lol The largest motor for a 2003 was 5.3L which tells us this guy's motor has been stroked wink

might wanna re-think your last post lol

that truck ran 16's stock. after having it for one week i added nothing but a 100shot and ran 13's. then swaped in a 6.0 in place of the 5.3 and hit it with a 125shot and ran a best of 12.2.

nitrous kicks ass.

"riiiiiiiiigggggghhhhhttttttt 12's from just nitrous?"

sorry let me make sure i correct myself, 12's with a completely stock 2500/hd engine in its place and 500 in nitrous. lol yeah cause nitrous sucks. full size chevy truck 6.0l totally stock down to the rubber with 500 dollars in nitrous.

So a swap AND nitrous. whooppee you can do that to a civic too. I never said nitrous sucked either rofl

you said the truck was bone stock and a swap does NOT clasify as stock. So no matter what stupid excuses you try to use to make yourself seem right you're still wrong thumbsup

and no offense but when a member name is created in order to justify 1 post I NEVER take anything posted with an ounce of credibility wink

better luck next post.

i just steped in to clarify what my truck actualy ran with what mods. you can suck my balls for all i care.

i thought droping from a 16.5 into the 13's with just a 100shot was prety decent and spoke well of effictiveness of nitrous.

lol well then, you go pick yourself up a civic and drop an oem optional engine in it with a 500 dollar nitrous kit and scan your 12.2 slip. lol thats priceless. definately do tho! you could hit ur nawz all over everyones ass! tricked out son!

credibility? lol. well i do believe jim has his own website, this is his second truck hes built as well. however im doubting he cares anymore then i do if you believe anything. however if you wanna carry it further you can check out his personal site which he can give you if he wants, or find more videos of his truck and other cars in our area at www.1320video.com [1320video.com] run by a mutual friend of ours based here in our town, or our discussion site www.omaharacing.com [omaharacing.com] where he and myself both post under the same names we do here. feel free to ask around the site to anyone you like about his setup or records hes set, hell while your there you might learn somthing? you can whip out your e-cock and tell everyone about your high 13's eek but why stop there? you could sure check out his spread like 3 or 4 months back in hot rod mag. but hey, why believe them either right? you keep running high 13's and talkin shit on msg boards and believe what you want. that should work out just fine for you smile

you're pretty funny. know MATTER what way you look at this you WERE WRONG. but its. ok caus ethe longer you go the dumber you look. If you had all this info then why would you screw it up in the first post??? guess you can only copy/paste so much huh?

and I will take your advice. I'll kepp on takin my 15 second car to the track and running 13's with simple cheap mods rofl Whats sad is you're trying to look cool with someone else car and accomplishments. thumbsdown unlike you I get out and take car of business on my own .

but hell just for shits and giggles, you could take an old hatch back and slap in a jdm k20, add a 75 shot and run 12's. probably not a 12.2 but it would be in the 12's rofl hell make it a 100 shot just for fun.

oh, and please feel free to quote wher eI said I knew everything about trucks???????

so whats the next excuse?

lol the dumber i look? you havent given one valid reply yet. you didnt know jack shit about trucks but told me i didnt for the record. and i dont know much either but apparently more then you do. and maybe im wrong and dont know enough about hondas but gosh i didnt know you could check a box at the dealership for a k20 in an old eg hatch? hmmm guess i missed that. oem optional engine. and i didnt have all the information, i was talkin about the truck. i dont know that much about it. but you questioned if it was true and i broke it down for you. dont be a cunt just because i was right. take the sand out of your vagina and admit your were wrong or just quit posting so i dont have to keep correcting you on this shit. not to mention for the record, "runnin 12's" which is questionable as is in a hatch with no weight reduction stock tires, stock fuel stock suspension stock k20. lol nope. sorry not happenin there either. id love to see it happen tho. but lol stock rubber? haha nope. maybe if you pull it behind john force on the way down the track? and im not looking cool at all. im just on a message board schooling some fast n furious wannabe with shit he tries to act like he knows and pullin anything he can out of his ass. and id be lying if i said it isnt fun for me at the same time. and i hate to break it to ya, but ive run slightly quicker then ur lil bolt on celica grin haha, but nice try second guessing me there. but my "cheater juice" mustang is under the knife so i rock the celica in the winter. i have two bikes sitting in my storage unit too but i dont need to pull out MY e-cock to talk myself up. you do what you hafta do, but personally i wouldnt be bragging about what you have to brag about rofl it might cut it with your fast n furious race club or whatever you do at night, but outside of beating corollas and stock foxbodies you might be a lil out of luck there.

lol this is a blast, give me more! i love replying to your posts smile

oh and as for bein cocky to jim. lol his truck would eat you alive on the stock engine for the record. so if i mis spoke anything reguardless, he'd still eat you alive. and so would i thumbsup

talk all the shit you want. it doesnt get you far in the real world tho. so enjoy feeling cool on ur lil world here, cause once you get up from your computer desk, POOF back to being a slow piece of shit again smile

edit>> for the record, my friends crx is sitting in my shop right now, weighs in at 2056lbs with minimum weight reduction, boosted built and tuned and put down 248 fwhp. jdm sweetness aside, a k20 on a 75 might put down similar numbers to the wheels within reason. especially since both are going to differ in torque, power band, and weight differences. he cant hook up for the life of him, and your little hatch example wouldnt either. maybe slicks and its possible. otherwise. lol

you suck again smile

Did I mention that I like french fried taters' and Mustard on my biscuts??

If I had the money I'd drop a surplus turboshaft engine and burn Jet-A only 150 Lbs and 1200 shaft HP - you'd need the N20 to put out the fire in your hair!

I wish I had $8000 to blow!

omg you're pretty funny. you're so insecure about yourself that you have to tr and list everything you own rofl you forgot to add how much you make per year, what kinda house you got, and how much your shoes and watch cost.

I mean seriously. I woulda took you for a junior high kid if you didnt say you drove so thanx for clearing that up thumbsup

If you're gonna try and e-thug you might not wanna try so hard cause you're not very good at it.

you still havent shown where i said I was the truck guru???? **waiting patiently**

if I really must quote you and do a line by line break down of how stupid you are I will but for now this is more fun cause you're completely clueless.

Now, since you want to bring your mustang into it, we can do that. I would HOPE it's at least respectable. if you can't out run a celica then you have some serious issues. So, kepp on thinkin you're a big bad super guy cause you can make alotta hp run a fast 1/4 mile. Frankly I'd laugh right in your face if you couldnt and tell you to give your car to someone more deserving thumbsup

Also, I'd like to add that in this forum you're on MY grounds so I have a very large E-cock thank you very much. I don't work on trucks I work with celicas right now. you're comparing apples and oranges so until you can show me how ANYTHING youve done is in some way worth mentioning you might as well STFU and go away.

BTW they had mustangs in 2fast 2furious so I guess that makes you one of us. welcome to the rice boy club genious.

oh, and just for kicks the day you can pull a 1.9 60' in celica that has only 119 wtq I'll let you talk to me about driving thumbsup and if you gotta use slicks to do it then don't bother talkin to me.
