the dynos will be on stock ecu. I won't have time to get he power fc tuned up at first. I imagine it will take around 8hrs just to do a basemap. it'll all depend on how well it takes to the old base map we made.
also I dunno if I'll post my map or not. it's gonna cost me over $400 in dyno time so giving it away for free to save everyone else some $$$ isn't high on my priority list lol I also don't wanna have to deal with the liability issues involved with releasing my own map.
think about it this way, How many people bought the Power FC from MWR and continue to use their "base map" w/o dynoing it or tuning it to their car? I'd say 80-90% of the people who buy it. with an improper une you can destroy your car. I don't wanna have to worry about that responsibility. rarely will 2 celicas react the same with the same map.

i totaly agree with Mike, i think its kinda stupid he is spending his own money and you guys are asking for more, stop crosing the line, stop being cheap damn it. if you want good performance pay for it. i think he is doing us a big favor by even dynoing the car, just because pplz wanna be so up tight about dynos, if you really dont trust the product then dont buy it. just my 02

damn, i didn't mean to start a big controversy over a tpr specific base map for the apexi pfc. just thought that with easy_c bumping out a ton of parts that it would be nice to see a map that works in conjunction with all the available parts since i would assume that he would already have his car tuned to the entire product line. i never asked for it to be free, just an option that could be distributed (for whatever cost) to those that purchased the entire product line of tpr. selling the base map would reduce tuning time for tpr buyers and also help tpr recover r&d costs associated with developing the product. one hand washes the other and both parties benefit. hell, i'd pay a significant amount for a map that was tuned specifically for the tpr i/h/e & cam (i've been waiting for the entire product line to debut). he retails all the parts, why not retail a base tuning service as well? i was not asking for a handout from anybody. alright so dyno testing costs like a grand. sell the map for $500. the buyer saves half the tuning cost so he's happy. you recover half your costs so you're happy. sell it to two buyers and you've recovered all your costs. sell it to three and you've got a profit. isn't this a reasonable question to ask? i was just hoping tpr was looking in to this as a service to retail. i have much appreciation and respect for all parties associated with tpr including all you guinea pigs, try not to take offense, we aren't all trying to roll you to benefit at your expense. thanks.

e_degala sorry for being a little harsh back there, now this makes a lot more sence. if your willing to pay then your strait, i just said for the pplz that want the map for free, besides like mike said before, he dosent wanna be responsible if your car wont react to the settings and blows up. every car is different so take your chances

The header is being put on hold because I delegated the R&D funds for it to getting the cam out. The cam will be a bigger seller and our community needs it right now. But once some nice cash comes in from the cams, we will be getting that header out as well. We also have a couple other goodies for ideas too, but its time to market smart and get things done quickly And no my car isnt tuned for anything right now. I only have a Gen 1 TPR intake on it ...

lucky, i had no idea that you were being hit up for maps like that. i hear you now.
i've been waiting for the tpr i/h/e set to debut. i planned on getting that first, then, adding the camshaft and apexi pfc. just wanted a map to start off with 'cause i planned on taking the map & pfc together down to a tuning shop and having it tweaked (hopefully it can run with the stock ecu so i can have the cam installed prior to tuning).
never intended to run with the base map as the final tuning so if tpr or anybody else sells the base map perhaps a clause that states that it is not to be utilized as a final map could prevent liability and doing so is at the buyer's own risk.
i'd like to see further dynos of the new parts coming out not 'cause of doubt, skepticism, or credibility of tpr but curiousity of the awesome potential that is possible that has eluded the celica market until now.
personally i'd like to thank tpr and associates for catering to the inquisitiveness of our fellow celica owners regardless of how unappreciative they may appear.

Question about the exhaust? So, is it going to be an axle back setup or is it going to go further forward on the system(Towards Cat)? Will any welding be required for this system?

its an axle back setup, it wont need welding. welding will only be required if you get the tpr header with out the downpipe

We don't know yet, my old shop kinda screwed me and made the piping to fit a 6" tip. i cant find any 6" tips with a 2.5 in but I think we found a 7" that can be cut. i'll post pics if my shop takes them.

i'll be goin over to the new shop as soon as the tips get there. that way I can take pics for easy_c. I saw 1 today that was the same thing only not the right size. it was pretty good lookin. it's polished, slant cut and rolled edges. once the exhaust is finished he can put the tip on and cut it and measure it and all that good stuff. chris doesnt want them to stick out either. the guy doesgood work. just be patient and trust that everything will work out fine in the end if you people knew how much behind the scenes crap that goes on you'd have a cow

Pretty good. The exhausts are almost done, the intake prototype is almost done, the cam got done ahead of schedule. Things are looking pretty up
