I have had the AEM intake in my house for about two months. Got my Invidia exhaust installed saturday, so I figured I'd take my intake with me.
I read the manual about a 100 times and read sites which claimed european celica's don't have the VSV for CCV, which is the VSV the nipple on the AEM pipe connects to.
I mailed AEM and they said 'well, if it isn't there, there's no problem not connecting it to the pipe'.
I was a bit worried that when disconnecting the Airbox I'd have like 10 disconnected hoses, well, that's not true, just 1 actually. This one is taken of and plugged with the little 'condom'.
I installed it together with a mechanic so I felt sure about installing it. Everything went according to the manual. We cut a piece of the fender liner and the pipe fitted perfect. The actual air filter fits just in the space in front of the wheel. No parts left over, except the ones that were meant to be left over
Very cool sound, it's not as loud as I was afraid it'd be. It's just perfect. It hisses and a bit of a screaming sound when stepping on the gas. No feared CEL (up till now, knock on wood).
Here's a pic of what it looked like during the installation
