My motor blew up in my GTS yesterday and Toyota said they were going to rebuild it under the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. It has 42,000 miles on it now. Will they give me a loaner car until it's finished or does the car have to be under the 36,000 mile warranty for that? Thanks

How did it Blow? Did they tell you why? Were you driving hard or miss shifted?

Well about 3 days before it happened the lift started to work like it was supposed to. Before it was really weak feeling. I thought this was normal b/c it's been like this since I bought the car. Saturday it started to feel like it had a slight miss at idle and the RPM would go down to about 300 and come back to 1,000. It drove fine then the check engine light came on and the lift stopped working all together. I cleaned the mass air sensor yesterday and reset the computer. I started it and it still had the weird idle. I took it out and tried the lift again, I only got to 6500 RPM when the motor just lost a lot of power then it sounded like it was only running on three cylinders. I drove it straight to the dealer and they called me today and said the #2 cylinder was gone. They didn't say why and I didn't ask. I'm going to call and ask them what happend. I've never missed a shift in this car but it was used. Anyway they said they would rebuild it under the powertrain warranty.

My baby had same problem on idle too. i try to test the lift, the engine just cut off totaly. I drove to toyota dealer then they rang me back and told me the coil ignition #2 was off. They changed over the new one. It's working fine now...

Good luck to ya baby btw.
