My wife has a 95 Celica with some garbage aftermarket stereo in it. She's told me she wishes she had the factory stereo with the CD player. Her car came with just the tape, radio unit and the little cubby hole. The OEM CD radio tape combo unit takes both slots and has two harness plugs in the back (same unit for most toyota's from 95 to 99 I believe). My question is, is the harness the same for all 95 Celica's, as in would they all have both plugs for the upgraded unit even though they only came with the tape/radio? In short can I just rip out the aftermarket unit and expect to find both plugs for the CD player version back there or will it just be the single plug for her OEM non CD player system. Thanks in advance.

As far as i know it's all the same. The only difference might be if the car had a "Premium" sound package. Basically all the harnesses do is provide power to the system and send signals to the speakers. It shouldnt matter if it's a cd or tapedeck. I'd say pop it out and take a look. If your still not sure ask the dealer?
