I find this site funny though, a girl could change her valve caps to chrome and everyone would give her mad props for a DIY mod.

But i just hate girls that think fixin a car is only for a man, and something goes wrong with the car they freak out and say i dont know why that happen. (blown motor and reason is never put oil in it) And hate ones that dont take good care of there cars! Straight up stupid. Later

Just to add fuel to the fire i suppose... I was in the ec chatroom 2 nights ago... and i got a pm from a guy (not mentioning any names..) asking if i was a girl or guy... told him a chick obviously... and he proceeded to tell me that he was surprised because chicks shouldn't drive celi's in the first place... let alone know how to mod them! Isn't that some shit!?

The ones who criticize are just jealous. But anyway, my mom is the same way with me too... even worse when riding a crotch rocket haha. Either way, I tell them its my money not theirs and I'm the one doing the work... not them.

yeah, it's a great feeling...especially when they ask, "where did you go to get that done" and you respond, "I did it myself". LOL Some of the looks people give. I put my own system in both my cars and people can't believe it LOL. My mom says I'm a gearhead LOL. So what!

Listen girl, I'm a 36 year old single mom of 4 (3 girls and 1 boy) and I have modded out my car with my kids help and ideas. You are NEVER too old for anything. I have a lot of fun with them and I hope that one day they will each have one for themselves(hopefully a celica). I truly believe in letting my children express themselves in every way because that is what makes them who they are, great people! You can try to explain to your mom how much it means to you and try to include her by asking if she ever drove a "fast car" maybe she has secret longings and she feels like she cant do them anymore. Sorry that was the "mom in me" talking. As long as your happy she (and the rest of your family)will learn to except that. Keep up with it!

Well in fact she did, a bright yellow Firebird with a really loud exhaust and all. When she was 16! Cops always pulled her over making up excuses why they pulled her over. Now all she drives are Mercedes and Lexus. I think she wants me to have a luxury-looking car. If I had a lux car, I'd still mod it LOL. I'm going for my own style!

I was in the chat room that night too and that guy was a dick though. A new member and he was messaging me about the cuteness of the other members and that I should meet them and tell him how hot they were etc... He was from the UK probably on this site just screwing around. Don;t be offended by someone like that.

I try...some things I need help on... or just need to consult with a pro before I attempt it, but I'd rather ask questions and sound dumb than just doing it and f'ing something up...plus I'd rather work on my own car. I'd love to be able to do anything on my car.

my parents were the same way when i started modding. now they think my car is definitely the coolest around. if your parents are on you bad about your car, then you need to mess with their heads. if they're anything like you described then i've got an idea. go to wal-mart and buy a completely black outfit, all black make-up, and fake black hair color. dress as evil and gothic as you can and walk around talking to yourself. oh, man that would be the funniest thing in the world. tell em you've decided to go gothic and see what they say. they would flip out. then later after a good laugh. take it all off and ask which is better, fixin up your car or goin gothic.

Props to another Celica modder! It's great to see that more women are enjoying this hobby as much as the guys! My thoughts of seeing a girl having a soup'd up car is impressed, interested, attracted, and very curious. My ex-gf as of 2 years ago wasn't even slightly interested in cars until I came into her life. I eventually taught her how to drive stick, which was a cool experience after having someone teach me.

As for your parents, let them say what they want. They are very closed minded and opinionated (this is my opinion from what you wrote about them; take it w/ a grain of salt). Soon you'll be out on your own and if a guy you meet isn't impressed with your style/personality (such as modding your Celica), just move on. It's not worth being with him if he's mocking you or disappointed about what you do.

I can't wait to find that special girl who's into modding cars and my other interests. It just leads to fun projects/trips down the road. *wanders into a daydream*

my ex has a 99 civic coupe, she has all kinds of mods..bodykit.neons,intake exhoast,rims, i thought that was the hottest thing, i really like girls who take pride in there cars!

I don't think a modified car tells any thing about a girl or any person for that matter other than they have a hobby and a interest in either performance and/or showing their car.
