Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Celica Resonator change

Hello, this is my first post on the forum. I am somewhat new to exhausts, however I want to improve the sound of my Celica GTS. I would prefer it to be a deeper sound and slightly louder than the stock GTS. However, I have found a resonator will do the job well. But my question is that after I swap the resonator should i replace the stock muffler with an after market one or should i just straight pipe it the rest of the way? I just want a deeper sound unlike a weed-wacker. Thank you for any advice and comments.

For something like this, I would install the resonator, drive around with it for a little, and then decide. No one on here can tell you what you'll like, it's all up to you. If you just swap the resonator and drive it like that, you may like it, you never know!

If you're still not satisfied, I would say most people have better luck with a custom system rather than an aftermarket muffler when other exhaust work is already done. Of course, ask around and be sure to check YouTube.
