Hoping to see if anyone else has had this issue and if you know what’s causing it, I have the 03 gts and recently when I shift into first the temp on dash has been going up and then when I’m in fifth for awhile it goes back down. While in gear there’s hot air coming through the vents even though the AC/heat is off. Engine coolant is at the low level so I bought some and gonna fill it up to the full line, but is that the issue? Or something else you think??? Still below mileage for an oil change but maybe that’s it? Thankssss I appreciate it

Did you flush and bleed radiator before this happened?

If you left any air in the radiator, it will get pushed in the steam and when it goes past the temp sensor, it will show an overheat. But I cannot explain why heat comes out the vents with heat off.

If coolant is low you most likely have a leak somewhere, best to find and fix it before it overheats and crack the engine. Run engine hot then idle and shine a bright light into engine bay. Any leak or steam will be easy to find.

Cooling and overheating engine is the most serious problem for cars.
