As above, in a Toyota Caldina (reputedly very similar to Celica).

- I found the 7.5A fuse blown behind the glovebox (wiring at stereo unit end was brittle, fractured, and presumably shhorted out when fitting new unit).
- Replaced and didn't blow but but still nothing.
- Checked each side of the cabin 'CIG' fuse and no +12V on either side with ig,switch on ACC.
- Other ACC-dependant functions do work.
- So is there another fuse that feeds this 'CIG' one, or should I be looking for another fuse (all seem good ...) ?

Grateful suggestions.

cheers

Fixed it. The appropriate fuse (blown but not visibly so) was in the cabin fuse-rack behing the glove-box, bottom left. Named ECU-ACC (7.5 Amp.).

What is this unit under carpet RHS of LHS footwell? It has an antenna going to it, 2 plugs into a loom under the carpet on the side of the central front riser, under glovebox on right-hand-drive models.

No English label on it apart from 'Part 61B147-000 '. Could this be for just remote starting ? And can it be totally removed without stuffing something else up ?

Pix attached.

Grateful any info !

Looks like it could be a remote system for car alarm. Has your vehicle had an aftermarket alarm system installed to it? The antenna looks like its from an a/v system. What markings are on the devices -- any company logos? your attached photos are tiny.

Here are some more pix. DIP switches under flap on side. The two auto-plug sockets connect into an existing pair of plugs in a loom on side of console. Antenna when to small coaxial socket on corner of the 'black-box'.
