I would like to know if you are interested on lambo door conversation kit under 1000$.
If you are, we would try to develop one in jan(and start a GB) wich would be an autolift type, not a pull up. Also the movement of the door would be more exact than on other kits.
Looking for your comments

Should post this in the Buy/Sell section, but it sounds like a good deal especially since it's automatic door. I'd be interested but I've got no cash

if its good quality and can be sold for 1K or less...i'm definately game! thumbsup

how do you plan to do this though? the decah kit is a pull up and it runs about $1400. autoloc offers a universal kit (that i've heard sucks) that has autolift and it runs in the 3K range.

1. will this kit be universal, or stricly for celica
2. will it bolt directly onto the existing hinges? or will custom work need to be done?

Yeah it would be kool to have door poppers and have the doors automatically open without wobbling like the autoloc one. I'm in if it looks good.

Ok I`m starting in jan and wish to finish it as well in jan.
Any suggestion how you like the best is welcome.
Plan is: polished stainless steel, movement side and straight up, no side moves while going up, slow autolift, and hold in up position, easy force to pull down. Simple bolt on, no custom works.

Define slow. A second or seconds to go up?

It measns the spring will set just a bit stronger than the force that has to hold the door. Like 2 seconds? Will see.

i'm in if you can guarantee quality and relative easy installation. i like it the fact that it's going to be bolt on and will require no mods. well keep us all posted and if this turns out as you are saying it will, i will be getting one, hopefully by february after tax refund comes back. good luck. later!

Wow that'd be great! Newbie here btw wave I am def thinking about lambo doors and under 1k is a great price, esp for a custom bolt on with no mods!

Am I understanding correctly that you would do an auto up (about 2 seconds) but to close the door you have to do it manually? I heard about the 3k kits that do auto up and down but the down takes a long time and it's not practical if you're in a hurry (like I always am). Thanks! smile

i don't know where you guys are shopping for the autoloc kit but it's only 2.5k on therei website, and only 2K on nopi. not to mention if you install correctly it works perfectly, does have a little slow shutting time though, but on my friends he opens before he even parks and closes the as he's walking away (remote contolled)

DEF. sound interesting though, i'd be game, keep us posted

2.5 grand, plus professional installation because the kit is universal.

the official autoloc site says: "Please note this kit is universal and may require modifaction to make work on your vehicle. We recommend professional installation." some people have also complained of problems with this kit.

the decah kit, by comparison is $1400 and is a straight bolt on (you can do it yourself--no installation cost) and it is celica-spec, not universal. no problems with these doors have been reported..other than its a little awkward to open when inside of the car.

the doors are automatic on the autoloc kit though...thats nice thumbsup

actually, if you look on nopi.com they sell the kit for $2,037. and my friend istalled it on his celica him self, it took him about a day to do it, but i works perfectly and the only modification he had to do was roll the fenders, as with any kit. it works beutifully and he's had no problems.

^^ thats not too too bad thumbsup but i still think most people should take autolocs own advice and get it professionally installed unless they are mechanically inclined.

having it automatic is nice though...can you get some pics up of your friends car? it would be nice to see what the location of the doors are once fully opened (scissor vs. wing-like) thanks for any help with pics.

i'll try but i don't see him very often i'm going to try to catch up with him next wed. and stay until sat.

he lives in hattisburg, but travels a lot to destin, Fl
and he worked at a body shop for about 6 years or something like that and worked mainly on custom frabrication

i would also recemend profesional install, and i will admit the autoloc kit does have more complaints

i'm thinking either wait till soemthing better comes out or get a shop to customize one that works well

Hi guys, girls

Here are some news on the kit:
As I said we started to work out the prototype, and the firs structure is almost ready, it looks very promising. We had no difficulties yet, only one thing, that we recognised that its impossible to install the lambo kitt w/o turning the inside of the fender a bit back as it is needed on other kits as well.
If you want I can send some pics next week. BUT ONLY IF you notice this is the prototype. There are 2 more things missing from the structure, the `spring`( cos we only able to measure the force we need to set the spring when main structure is finished), and polish.
The structure is (as I said) made of stainless steel and will be polished for show results.

getting in and out? You mean you don't just STAY in it all the time? Besides a minor inconvinience of ducking and or manuevering out of the way of it is a small price to pay for looking totally pimp.
