So i have the GTS stock 16" rims and yokohama tires, I'd like to get bigger tires but don't really want to spend tons of money right now on rims and tires, because I have a lot of other mods in the works right now. How much is it gunna cost to get my nice rims and tires? Keep in mind I'm buyin a VS body kit and considerin a drop. ANy suggestions? links and pics would be huge! wave

Maybr around 1200-1500 for a decent pair rims and a nice set off tires.

there are cheap rim deals on the net, but the rims may not be the best quality.

and if it's not good quality I'm better off just holdin onto the 16" till I can afford to upgrade. Then again the 16's will be better for racing...of course with the 200 pounds of stereo equipment I will soon be putting in my trunk that prolly won't matter...

i got 17's with tires for only 799 on sale, free shipping and were balanced and mounted already...

you could get nice 18's for around 1000 with the same things included.

imo, its better just to save and get exactly what you want. if you want a set of wheels that are relatively cheap, then all the more power to you.

but if you want a set of rims that are expensive...save save save. you'll be happier in the end. with wheels being such a status quoe these days (unless you have some serious exterior mods--wheels will be the things people notice most), it's important to get what you like.

if you're not sure of exactly what you want--browse around! there are plenty of wheel sites you can visit and any car magazine will have pages upon pages of adds (also, many mags annually publish a "wheel buyer's guide" which helps a ton)

a few sites you may want to visit for good browsing:
superbuytire.com [superbuytire.com]
racerwheel.com: wheel makes/models [racerwheel.com]
tirerack.com: wheels for celica [tirerack.com] (at tirerack, you will actually have an image of the celica posted..(75 different wheels are currently available at this site)so you can see what they look like on your celica) thumbsup
