true dat. my friend (sorta friend) was ragging on my car (got a GT) and saying i couldve gotten the matrix xrs for less or about the same as my GT and it has fourty more HP . if i wanted the matrix (ugly POS in my opinion) i wouldve gotten one. if blitz is what you like, thats cool. where were you all this time by the way?

as far as money wise thats a lot of moeny to save up..I am sure mommy and daddy helped you out but there is nothing wrong with that! and also your sponsorship paid for most of the expensive stuff on your car...you will deff. get sick of the lambo doors they are heavy and annoying after a while! but congrats on the mods!

nope deff. wont get sick of the doors, i never even have to touch them , in fact on saturday i was just sittin in my car pressin the thing to make them go up and down for like half an hour, i was so amazed by it lol

if you wanna get sponsered by a shop and be cool like me (lol im not cooll..) just have a talk with a local car shop

some car shops have like huge shows and shit in the summer (unless its cali or somethin, they probably do it year round)
and just say, if you guys do some work for me i can stick around at all the shows as a demo car to show what kinda work you guys do, thats how i got it

yea i got onto the shops computer and showed dan (once again hes the shop owner for those that dont know) the gt300 and other nice celicas and i showed him that modded celicas get a lot of attention and a lot of attention to the car shop which means more business

I've been following this post now for a few days and I must say some ppl are just plain pricks! Ice has pissed me off in the past with some of his comments but this is stupid. Ppl are bitching about him saving 35k. Hey Ice great job! I wish I could keep money from burning a hole in my pocket and save some of it. For all we know someone close could have passed and that's where the money is comeing from. just my 2cents. Cars gonna look mint ICE.

The dual exhausts is quite pointless.

I hope you at least hooked up both tips, so exhaust comes out of both, and one isn't just attached to the car for sheer looks.

Too bad you are only 17, Iced, because in 5-6 years when the car is worth nothing because it has depreciated down to 5-6K, you'll wish you had saved the money to buy a house or something of that nature.

If you had 35K in the bank, you'd have been better off buying a used celica for $13-15K, and pocking the rest for the future. Cars are not an investment, but rather a liability.

my mods are my college education, investments in funds so I'll have money to pay down student loans quicker, stuff for my house, etc, etc.

My celica, as well as yours, wil be worth very little money in 4-5 years. I don't want to sick money into something that isn't going to be worth anything. Some guys here make lots of money, and they sink it into the car and don't expect to get anything out of it. However, it's just disposable income for them.

I, being a fulltime college student, don't make tons of money. The money I do make isn't foolishly sunk into a car.

I'm not knocking your mods, I'm just saying there are hundreds of better ways to use $35,000 at age 17, and a fancy car isn't one of them

diablo-yo i deffinetly understand what your saying but the thing is..every car deppreciates in value after 5-6 years, so basically there would be no point in customizing cars, theres hooked 94 and shit supras out there that DEFFINETLY arent losing value anytime soon. I'm gonna have keep this celica as long as i possibly can, and i know im not gonna mod out another car in this lifetime so might as well get the fun outta the way while im still young, ya know?? plus,my cars an investment, im putting into as many local shows as possible and im eventually gonna make a few dollars back.

If i had 35k just laying around, i would put down payments on a few apratments, rent em out to people, and after the mortgage is done in 15 years, i would have like 3 apartments, or sell them, or continue renting them out. But thats not the point of this thread. The point is that Iced went his way, made some AWESOME mods to his cars, and i respect that. You only live once, might as well make it interesting...

true, but the supra is valuable because it's a supra.

If you get enjoyment out of the car, and you can consider the money you spent on it, most of which (60-70%) you won't ever see again, a good purchase, then more power to ya!

If you enjoy it, that's all that counts. But it would be wise to save some money for a rainy day

you can do a lot of things with the money you are about to spend on mods but as long as you're happy you're cool...besides you're 17??!! i'd give anything to be that young again, not have to worry about the stuff diablo posted...

if he has 35,000 im sure he's not spending all of it on mods for the celi...Id prob spend like a 3rd of it...then put the rest in an IRA or somethin.

$20K for celica, probably $9-10K in mods...that's prettymuch the whole lot

the only prob. iced when you enter your car in competitions is that if their is a modded supra you will find it very hard to win for best toyota...and i doubt a celi will do very well in a overall car show...just from what i have seen at other car shows...but i sure hope you win..it will be good for a celi to win!

there will be a time when you know you'll have to decide on what to do with your money and whatever, but since you don't have anything else to do with it now besides blow it on a car...then you do that
