Hello! I would just like to ask if there is anything good to know before buying an Celica, I have been looking at the 2000 Toyota Celica,
And I was just wondering if there is anything good to know before buying one of them, for example what is the main difference between
an GT and GTS toyota celica etc.
I completely fell in love with the celica and hope to one day help people the same way as I am getting help right now.

The gen 7 Celica was an excellent top-down system design, light weight, versatile, 4 seats with rear fold down, rear hatch back. It's a beautiful, high performance car with high versatility, not to mention beautiful styling from front to rear, like fine arts sculpture. Lots of people are in love what that beautiful styling.

The GT has a low-compression engine and softer suspension, driving more like a sedan. The GTS has a high-performance, high compression engine with stiffer suspension tuned for hard driving. You can drive it very aggressively.

I would recommend the Gen 7 GTS with a 1.8 L 2ZZ engine with VVTI-L . That engine was designed with a lot of moving parts made with light weight Titanium alloy, so it's very quick response, revs up and down quickly, power was always on tap at any RPM range, it screams like a jet engine all the way up to 9000 RPM. The Lexus LFA's V10 engine is a similar design with a Yamaha DOHC cam system, also revs up to 9000 RPM,

The GTS suspension is tuned just right for high speed cruising, not too harsh, absorbing road bumps very well but is far more stable and controllable than other high-performance car. Guys who drive Porsches, BMWs and MBZs were all impressed with the Celica GTS at high speed cruising.

I drive this car very hard, cruise at high speed every week, engine still smooth and strong with 335K miles, nothing is wrong with the engine or the car..

Check compression on all cylinders, should be around 200 PSI +/- 10% of each other.

Check for possible head gasket leaks or cracks in valve head and engine block with oil and coolant mixed in engine oil and radiator coolant.
