Custom Fog Lights for TRD Body Kit By Tony @ EverythingCelica.com
As you all know, TRD fog lights for the TRD/Action Package are discontinued. And if you can find one, it is around $300 a pair. Many people on the board have gone with $40 fog lights from AutoZone or Walmart. They are 4" with light blue lens. I wanted the yellow/blue coated lens similar to TRD. But, they don't come in 4". So this is what picked up from AutoZone last night. It is the Pilot, model PL-2088. It cost me $20.
Since the 3" fogs are too small for the holes, I modified the stock foglight covers and used them as brackets.
I used a special drill and cut a 2" pilot holes, then I used the Dremel to make the fogs fit the modified fog light covers. This took a couple of hours, but half of time, I was waiting for the damn Dremel to charge up.

I will take some night shots later. The whole project cost me $20 plus 4-5 hours of work. It beats paying $300 for TRD, IMHO.
looks nice, i believe TRD front looks 100times better with fog lights in the correct holes. I've done the walmart fogs, not the blue ones but the chrome housing ones. Today i installed my MTECS and they took the same bulb as stock fogs (lucky me) look hella nice!
i just bought a pair of pilot PL-2088B fog lights from autozone yesterday after reading this thread. The housing is blue rather than blue/yellow, personally i like the blue housing look. Can't wait to install em.
How did you mount the fogs to the stock fog light covers? did you have to drill holes through the pilot fogs?
also... did you have to remove the front bumper? or do you think it's possible to work through the stock fog light holes...
The fogs are mounted to the foglight covers with 3 small screws. I removed the front bumper. It is much easier that way. But, you can work through the stock foglight holes. My car came with stock fogs. So, I didn't change the fuse. I just connect the two wires to the stock wire harness. If you don't have stock fogs, then use the wire harness that came with the foglight kit. I believe it has a fuse built-in.
Really BAD reality TV is the reason I stopped watching MTV.

did you drill those screws in or did it come like that. and how you get thru the fire wall?
finished installing my fog lights today! hella dope, eCELICA rocks! i can't believe this mod only cost $20 and looks real good. even cheaper than the footwell neons mod...
Southcak9 - no it didn't come like that. The screws were added to secure the new fogs. To get through the firewall, i believe you have to remove the battery.

hey, this maybe off topic I have a 2003 toyota celica gt trd edition i was wondering where i would be able to find the cover you have to replace your licence plate. thanks
its basically a black acrylic plastic sheet with TRD vinyl lettering stock on it. Very simple to make. You could probably use better materials and then apply a clear coat or other material over that, to potect it all. You could even find two thin acrylic sheets, one dark and one clear, and place your TRD vinyl sticker lettering between them. There are many ideas to make this custom piece.
here is another view of that plate:

here is another idea if you know somewhere that will do some custom metal machining for you (or find them on ebay/amazon):
