yea, my dealership told me that i have only 2mm of brake pad left. where can i get these AXXIS brake pads, and will i need to change the rotors too? the dealership said that i should change my rotors when i change my pads, and i only have 25000 miles on my car. others have told me that if you change ur brake pads timely, then ur rotors will last you for over 50000 miles, is that true?

You won't have to replace your rotors at that kind of mileage. At worst you may have to get them 'turned' or 'machined' which means they just put them on a machine and take a cut off them to make sure they aren't warped. As long as your brakes weren't pulsing you are probabally fine.

okay, these pads sound good, but you said they were for high-performance applications and extreme braking and all that...well I don't need that at all...will these pads still provide good stopping power for the street without compromising pad life or other factors that are usually sacrificed in racing application mods??

I understand. These brakes perform wonderfully. They dont heat up and fade like the stock pads do. They even saved me from a traffic accident or two because of the awesome stopping power that they provide. I have noticed that they shed more brake dust but I don't mind. It is a small sacrafice with regards to the amount they perform.

A way that I was taught to know if you need to get your brake rotors resurfaced is first wait till the brakes are COLD so you don't burn yourself. You should do this test in the morning before you drive so you know your certain that your brakes are cold.
Run your finger up and down the rotor surface to feel for ridges that have been formed from the brake pads. the ridges would appear to be like rings in the contact surface of the rotors. If you have ridges, you should get your rotors resurfaced. Also, if your rotors are glossey or glazed, you should also get them resurfaced.

Rub your finger up and down your rotor like in the arrows of this picture to feel for ridges in your rotor which may cause uneven wear of your brake pads.

if you have the brakes taken apart, and have an extra $80, just buy the brembo oem rotors from tirerack.com it's easy enough to change them, and it's cheaper than resurfacing them (I have the EBC green stuff pads, and I LOVE them. extreme stopping power, they can activate the ABS on drive pavement under HARD stops from 60-0)
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation To know even one life has breathed easier This is to have succeeded.
