So here it is. Got the trd sway bars and tein ss coilovers installed last week and here are the pics. Installed to factory specs they are LOW with a BRS body kit. SO I had to raise the front one finger width to a tight 3 finger margin. (2 was too low). The teins are awesome so far, no clanking, and super easy to adjust. I used a tooth brush and a fine painting brush to remove all the grit from the groves before using the wrench.

Here's a pic so you can see the trd bar too. I got them for $1050 from Suprastore. They are good folk and they got here in less than 48 hours. I was floored when they showed up and I was not expecting them for another 2 days. I thnk shiping took it to 1100.

Its pretty hard to see the dampening adjuster between my fingers in that last pic, bad pic and all. The ride difference was immense with both mods goig on at the same time. The last thing i wasnt is a lower tie rod to help stiffen up the steering a bit. Until then Ill just leave you with this, Respect the GREEN!

in regards to the ride, was it bouncy on the softest setting or was it close to oem?

Ill et some when we get some pics from a distance when the weather gets nicer and i can lower the front back to spec height( barely 2 fingers). As to comparison to stock, i would say it is noticably stiffer but far from uncomfortable or harsh on the soft levels. Hard to say though cause the roads here are pretty good. Now i just need some 17's and ... oh yeah a turbo.

Congratulations on the Tein coilovers. You won't be disappointed. When you get a chance let myself and the others here know what you have the damping set at for spirited driving and daily driving. Mess with it and have fun for those can get rather stiff. Also do a follow up, if you can, after the springs settle and you do some driving over rough roads, twisties, and etc.,  One question. Why didn't you get the camber plates/pillowball mount for the front too?

I know the SS doesn't, but why not a little extra money and get the SS-P with the pillowbal mount and EDFC compatibility.

The SS is not EDFC compatibly. Check here>> EDFC Confirmation [tein.com]. The stock upper mounts are fine with the SS. The Tein pillowball mounts only work with the newer SS. The SS-P. Yeah I didnt get the pillow ball mounts, instead they work with the ones that come with the car. I was just being cheap. (if you can be dropping 1k into coilovers). As for the settings I am undecided whether i want to cut holes into the rear interrior to make adjusting the rears easier. It is definately NOT worth it to take the entire damn thing out and wrestle with the rear strut tower bar just to make a one or two click adjustment. Right now i have the rears set at 4 and the fronts at 8. (out of 16 with 1 being the stiffest) The rears really didnt seem to make that much noticable difference in ride quality though the handling likes the stiffer settings by a noticable difference. It makes the car much more nutral on turn in. On hard higherspeed you turns the rear now comes out before the front. (also have trd sway bars and rear strut tower) I havnt played much with the front yet, mainly because i was trying to figure out the rear before i put the interior back in. On that note, less weight is nice... BUT NOwhere near as nice as it is to have MUCH less road noise. I am a person who doesnt use stereos or such much in a car cause I like the sound of the engine. I usually dont care about such things, BUT... without the rear interior you hear every peble and grain of sand you go across rattle through your undercarriage. It feels like you chopped off the back of your car. If you really want less weight take out your rear seat backs (really easy) and the shelf but unless you are super hard core, leave your interior in. You will love driving much more.

I have been keeping in contact with the reps at Tein and according to them the SS and HA only works with the stock upper mounts. The pillowball for the SS-P will not work. The Hotchkis camber plates is not ideal because it puts more stress on the top of the piston shaft. If the stress was and inch or two lower it might work fine. With a multilink suspension it would not be a problem, but with our McPherson strut settup it could be a problem. They at Tein have accualy seen the top of the piston shaft snap because of that type of camber plate. This only applies to Tein and the SS or HA. Other companies like Jic and Tanabe I believe come with upper pillowball mounts and may only work properly with them. Jic by the way in the future will be making strut tower bars for 2000 and up Celicas. Hopefully their carbon fiber ones.

I noticed the stiffer the better too so I am going 10 up front and 12 in the back. Potholes,bumps, and railroad tracks suck. I have to slow way down or try to swearve or straddle those obstacles. Thank's for the follow up and enjoy.
