After some long hard thinking I've decided to get a Nissan 240SX. Yes I know you all probably would have got a celica. But this car is perfect, It now costs 700 dollars and he hasn't sold it yet I'm surprised. It has a lot of goodies-H.U.D., sunroof- VSGTS14-Celikitten , Aftermarket exhaust, and more. It has a blown engine though but thats the good thing. My dad has agreed that I can get the car as long as I can find a place to get a engine. I was going to get a SR20DET, but my dad said if I'm going to get an engine get an engine, I decided to stuff a RB26DETT in there thats right the Skyline GT-R I-6 ( (Trust me it's possible) . I would easily do his corvette .Me and my dad have a lot of plans for this car, since I won't have a car note to pay and I will be able to tune it instead of paying for it. Me and my dad are going to do everything from engine to the brakes even 5 lug conversion cause it's better.Maybe we can go pick up saturday or sunday. BTW It's a 1989 240SX se to be exact. Yes I know this is a Celica forum and not a 240 forum But I'll still come here and I might get the celica as a graduation present
good choice on a car you will have both the drag car with that RB26 and the the track/drift car with that motor too. yeah ive heard good things about that RB26 motor in that car. Ive seen some 240s with that motor take out older V8s and corvettes good luck and keep us posted on the car. or at least keep me posted
Theres are whole hybrid how-to in the Sept 2003 Sport Compact Car Mag. tells everything involved step by step. heres a link to the page> 240sx [sportcompactcarweb.com] Its a lot easier to read straigt out of mag but the webpage does fine
I know its not nearly as unique but you would definately get more bang for your buck with an SR20. Theres is so much more costs and possible problems involved with the RB25.
Holy Jebus! You should get as many JDM parts as you can afford Yeah, this is mostly a gen 7th Celica site, but you still gotta give props to a Silvia with a Skyline engine
the RB25 powerplant would be SICK!!! however you should also consider that replacement parts will be japan only because the engine was never released in the US. SR20DET parts would be easier to get and the swap would be a lot easier to because it is almost a direct bolt in. good luck
a kid told me that celicas handle like crap... i laughed
GOOD CHOICE!!! i have a 95 240sx and let me tell you, it is ALOT more fun than the celi. the thing w/ the older models like the 89 is that if you do an engine swap you'll need to mess w/ the power steering lines and a few others.
i'm going w/ an sr20det because i plan to build the internals, i would get an rb20det if there were more parts available... however the rb20det engine is cheaper than the sr20. good luck on which ever you choose.
you mean the jdm lights right, cause those look way better than stock 240 front ends
No I mean the retractable headlights, I going to make them go up a little less than the halfway.
I'm going with the SR20DET also element_celica, I love this car only if she was running, right know, I couldn'y even sleep last night cause I thinking about what I'm going to do to the car.
Hell yeah another 240 on the ecelica I remember when I used to be the only one. Too bad my baby has some serious work that needs to be done on it in the near future. SR20 is just as good as a RB if you want an RB25DETT I know a guy who has 10 of them sitting on the dock right now. PM me for his shop info.

That's mad phat. 240's are really popular. Should be a lot of fun to work on.
Remember when I said the car had a blown motor, yeah about that its not nothin stupid (like a Blown headgasket) its serious, the KA threw a Rod so she shakes like crazy it turns over an runs though maybe and it has a hole in the side of the block near the steering assembly I'll have a little fun before I take the KA out (If You know what I mean) he he
Also me and my dad are doing the RHD conversion whether you like it or not.
