i took it to a shop to be installed and they said they used the old gasket because it still looked good. and i did a leak test by covering the exhaust and i tried to hear if there was any air coming out of the headers and there was no air coming out and i dont have a exhaust leak. N8 mulder what do you mean by "YES" yes the headers is suposed to sound like that or yes i have a leak?

i had a problem when i did my header. I burned through the new gasket it came with. Eddlebrock has them if you need a new donut gasket. its pretty tough to change them out with the header still on the car. If you have the ability to jack the car up, then you can easily take the header off. The hardest part of the install was getting the stock header out of the car. The new one goes in easier. Also I didnt notice that you could hear some air in the intake when throttleing up. That is normal. But it sounds like you are leaking. Id change the donut gasket, and possibly the 4port gasket at the top. You may need to dremel the 4port metal gasket if you cant find one that has as big an opennings as the new header. Definately us a metal one for that. Reusing the donut gasket is a bad idea because when you tighten the header onto the mid-pipe they are designed to form fit to the pipes.

Also something I did with mine that might help with the noise on yours is to thermal tech the header. Its an exhaust wrapp that keeps the heat in the pipes. Hot air is good because it will speed up the air flow in your exhuast. You can pick up 2-3hp just by doing your whole exhaust system. Also it deapens the exhaust sound a bit, and it sounds tight. You wrapp the pipes with the stuff then get a spray bottle and wet the wrap a till moist. Then let it dry. Then spray a can of paint over top the wrap. The paint is exhaust wrap paint, not ordinary paint. This will not damage or change the look of the header or piping underneath at all.
