Is the Matrix more popular then the celica, i've seen more ads from toyota for the matrix and trd makes more parts for the matrix, is it a faster car, more popular, its annoying how more attention is on the matrix and not the celica!!!

the matrix is a new model that toyota is aiming for gen-y buyers. the celi has been out and has it's name. the celi is a more narrow focus car. and the matrix has the same engine as the gt celi, but it has the underhood space to put things there easily, ie: supercharger

yeah its because, i think, they are aiming for gen-Y.
there are lotta competition for these type of cars, such as cvic si, scion, 3, and some other cars that are coming out.
I believe there is more parts for celica right now than matrix though. And in japan there are lotta celica parts, not just in us. underhood space is also true too.

nope, i just got the most recent trd catalog, and its like trd likes the matrix better, the 1.8l supercharger wont even fit on the celi, they have way more trd parts for the matrix!!

celica is still faster due to weight of the two...

but Matrix was aimed for gen-y and didn't really work, so TRD still goes ahead and makes shit for it

Yeah, the whole power/weight ratio makes the celica faster. Damn, I remember when my generation was the cool one...Generation X... What the heck is gonna happen once generation z has come and went? The end of the world? Or will it be Generation AA?

for a second i thought you said it does 1/4 mile in 12 seconds fixed up. then i read again and saw 0-60... horrible

If you prefer one car over the other because of the availability of aftermarket parts, sell the celica, and get a Matrix. It's not because Toyota doesn't "like" the Celica.

my fahter has one we raced.

teh auto is just a hair slower than a equivalnet auto in a celica. tehy are not that far apart

The Matrix is more popular due to price, advertising, sales and the fact its a Corolla wagon (some magazines in europe call it the Matrix Corolla). The Celi has its own niche though and won't sell anywhere near as well as the Matrix. Matrix is just more practical.
