can someone tell me how much hp each solara has?

my brothers thinking about getting one

Yeah, the solaras are pretty cool. I'd rather take a celica, but the solara would be my second choice from toyota.

those cars were made to go under Lexus but at the last minute they decided to slap a toyota badge on it

solaras are nice, i like em.

I'm sure they're nice cars, but the outside of them is ugly to me. It doesn't flow.. kinda looks like a bubble or something

they come in 3 trim levels...the SE, SE sport, and SLE

as already metioned, they are two engine types that provide for either 157 horses or 225 horses. ALL 3 model types come STANDARD with the 157 horsepower engine. and ALL 2 engine types are AVAILABLE for all 3 trim levels

I like the exterior of the new Solara, but the interior looks like a G35, not a fan of metal trim interiors, I'd stick with the 1st Gen interior, in all black.

I actually liked the last gen Solara a little bit. The new one: gag me.

The exterrior is HORRID! If he wants a bigger car, why not look at a Mazda 6? Or if he wants a Toyota, why not look at an Avalon? The new Solara is just...

the new camry solaras are not much different from the older solaras (exterior speaking).

also, i like the new design a bit more. looks more modern and along the lines of the 350z and infiniti g35 sportcoupe with the way the rear flows with the rest of the car.

For me, it was all the small things about the last Solara taht made it nice. The lines were slick, and it flowed, especially in the rear. I saw a sick TRD modified one around here... I swear I followed the guy for like 3 miles trying to catch up and talk with him. The new one just seems too chunky to me... the rear is overdone, the tail lights are ugly, and it just "looks bigger". All personal taste I guess.

Check out the numbers on that supercharged Solara. 14.5 1/4, and that is without any other bolt-ons. For a 3500lb full-size car, that's pretty awesome.

yeah they are, but the solara is quieter in the cabin, smoother in the ride, and bigger

but the handling in the celi is non comparable to the sol

so many factors go into handling...

for the most part, mid engine cars have top handling
fwd cars have slightly better handling than comparable rwd cars
as a rule of thumb, less weight = better handling
as a rule of thumb, the shorter the length of the wheelwell the better the handling
as a rule of thumb, the lower the car, the better the handling
as a rule of thumb, the stiffer the shocks/springs the more precise the handling
as a rule of thumb, the less revolutions the steering wheel makes to turn its wheels from end to end the more precise the handling

Ouch dude. The only thing I can compare between the two is the weight. I cant say i am too much of a fan of the styling.

My cousin has an '04 black. I think it's a little too bulky. pretty nice though.
