so this kid i went to HS with saw i got a new exhaust on my celi, and was asking all about it. he has a yellow saturn sc2 (124 hp stock i looked it up). he asked me about gains and i said 7-12, and he said "that sucks" b/c he just ordered a dual exhaust magnaflow that is supposed to give him 60-70hp:rotf:. i tried reasoning with him, but he was pretty insistent. he said it's gonna be fast soon, and i asked him if it had a 5 speed, and he said not yet, but he's gonna make his auto into a manual he said it's gonna be really fast soon, and then we can race. i told him my best advice was to get a car that is fast to start out with...such as NOT A SATURN. haha! i'm feeling pretty confident about smoking him with that new exhaust on even in my auto.
man, this kid is a ricer if i have ever seen one. i think i just crushed his dreams though (he added me to his MSN now, i wish you could be reading this convo ) i don't know a whole lot about cars, but man, this guy was thinking he was gonna run like 500hp out of this thing, and couldn't understand why his saturn internals weren't gonna hold up.

I talked to the Idiot like him ones too... He has old 96 Honda and he told me that he is going to make his car 500-600 Hp... from 120hp to 600... I wonder how much money do you have to spend to do so... FUCKING IDIOTS...but they make us look better.

maybe not from a daily driven car. But there is a place here called PFI (Fort Collins, Colorado) and they have a turbo crx with 600hp they run low 9s in the quarter mile. some of you guys might be familar with them there in a lot of magazine with the IDRC races. Well they race at almost every race @ Bandimere Speedway in Denver Colorado.
There shop actually has rubber from the tires on the ceilings & far back walls from it doing burn outs on the dyno...

Holy shit that funny. Kids at my school when i told them i added my ram air intake to my auto they were like, "what are the gains on that like 20 Hp" I just said yea to now they think my car can smoke all theirs.
I don't know what the hell is wrong with some of you guys. Saturns are quality automobiles that are made to do one thing...go fast. I'm in the process of trading in my GTS for an 03 Ion. I'm pretty confident that I can hit low 13's in that car after I put in an aftermarket intake/exhaust. I'll post my time slips also.

that reminds me of this honda fanboy at my school. he thinks the GT celica has 130hp, less torqe than a 99 civic SI (which has 16lb less than GT), and he thinks it weighs 2800 lbs. hahahahahahaha

Hey man, knock on the saturns now, but wait until you start seeing Ion Redline's cruising around the streets, they're running turboed ecotec motors that put out about 200-210 HP to the wheels. Lot of people will be running them because they're cheap amd turboed from the factory. Easily as quick as a GTS.
it would still be a saturn though. my friend with a celi from columbus said he raced a sc-1 with i/e and a 75 shot of nos and beat him. haha (he has just intake on a GT)
