I got out of my car yesterday, touched the door to close it and received a REALLY bad shock, it actually caused pain and my hand went a little numb. Normally there is a little shock after driving the car for a distance, however I had not driven the car, I just got in to check how many miles were on the car so I could plan my next oil change, and I turned the car over to ON, didn't turn on the engine. Could this be from a bad ground or something? Also, now my passangerside tweeter is going in and out...

Jameson you have the leather seats don't you. I get shocked every time I get out too. It's really painfull when I wear a fleace pullover or something like that, that biulds up a big charge on the leather.

It sucks. Even if I close the door w/ my foot I still have the charge. So when I go to put my house key in the lock ZAP

I have the same problem, although it ususally occurs after I shut the motor off. I think it's a safety precaution because if you didn't get the static out when you leave the vehicle, it may be transferred into a gasoline pump thing when you fill up for gas. Static + Gasoline = BAD.

When you get out of your car in the future, just quickly tap the door while your left foot is on the ground to keep the duration of be shocked to a minimum.

All cars create static when driven and its compounded by your clothing and your seats and as for the sssssssssssss noise, Maybe you've sprung a leak
