The design is nice, but they have got to do something about that front fender. That front fender takes all the aggresseveness out of the car. I have a feeling that it will change, though. Keep in mind that its just a concept design. Anytime I see a realistic concept design, the body usually stays the same and the fenders are changed.

I guess I'm the only one who isn't happy about the bigger engine. More HP = more $$$. One of the main reasons I love the celica is that it is very affordable. I was planning to buy a 2005 celica, but not if the price jumps from $17K to $20K. I'll buy a Mustang and save a few thousand.

I kinda like that funky-ass new mitsubishi, though it has a curb weight of FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS! frown That new celi looks kinda like a fcuked up 350. Like the HP though.

i think the design has some potential... it's gonna need some work though before it can match the good looks of the 7th gen though. Let me tell ya though, if htat thing comes out with 247 stock HP, and they manage to make it look anywhere near as good as the 7th gen... i will likely trade my car on the spot

Nice power figures, ugly ass design.

However, remember who gay the XY concept looked?

It became the sweet 7th gen. I love the 247 HP figure, now just make that swappable into the 7th gen...yeah right rolleyes

I think that most of you consider it ugly becasue you're looking too much at the color scheme. That orange makes an okay looking car UGLY.

I actually like it. It's like a G35c, which I love. I'm sure they'll smooth out the styling a little bit before production though... just like they do in every concept car. Main thing I'm looking at: 247hp!!! We're already looking at Evo-killer territory (weight dependant). Imagine if that makes it to production and spawns an aftermarket. 247hp, slap on a turbo = mad good grin

If that sucker is for real, I'm going down to Toyota to be first on the waiting list. Screw the S2k I was saving for.

its definitly not as sexy as the 7th gen. celica but it does have some potential. Besides for that kinda base line power I will definitly trade in my 7th gen, if I have the means, when it is released. Hopefully this means that Toyota is finally trying to get back into the hp competition with Honda and Nissan, cause the 7th gen and MR2's are kinda lacking in that department. Anybody got any ideas on curb weight for this thing? idunno

i dont like it all that much too be honest...the front is just too retarded for a car of that capacity...like the engine but from the front windsheild and toward the front kills the car and its engine in my opinion

the HP sounds believable to me. i mean the scion tc is coming with 200hp with supercharger so celica has to do better. but the look is a little weird, something that toyota doesnt usually do. i mean in a way it looks like a scion car. the front is a little weird. but if you really look at it, the concept doesnt look too bad. i mean the car might be looking ugly from the angle the picture is shot at. but imagine if it had more curbs onto the body. it would look alittle nicer. BUT this changes the celica look from complete aggressive sporty to a little more luxury sporty. i think the 7th gen is more aggressive and i think celica should stick with the more aggressive look. but the engine sounds nice, hopefully it has good torque, a little low compression, and not exceed 2500lbs!!
a turbo will do good on these cars, and yea nice body kit.

I think that we just were all spoiled with the 7th gen.

Try to think of another car with as many sharp lines as the 7th gen. There just aren't many out there. Only things that come to mind off hand are the Vette and the 05 Mustang, the latter of which is "retro". The trend for years has been rounder, smoother, "bubble-like".

I like the concept picture, but I would agree with most of you that the 8th gen motor should just come in the 7th gen body tongue
