Got some help yesterday from two friends putting it on. What I noticed is that it's not that much lighter than stock, basically since our stock hood isn't that heavy.I'd say it weighs about 2/3 of the stock hood.
We put it on, took about 5 minutes. Problem I encountered was that the hood could not close enough due to the latch being a bit too long.
Since I don't have a welding machine (to shorten the latch) I took out the opening/closing mechanism for the latch. 3 bolts, unhook cable. Then widened the holes until I could close the hood perfect.
About the color, it's black/silver kevlar, not bulletproof. the weave is about the same as c/f. I actually think it's a mix of kevlar and c/f. The silver isn't as bling-bling as chrome. I assume this is caused since the resin isn't 100% colorless.
Anyway I am really happy about this hood. I also love how it flows with my kaminari kit. It doesn't have the raised scoop. The scoop is also NOT removeable. I don't mind, I think a raised scoop might make it too aggressive anyways.
Hoodpins are delayed a bit, I will be putting on the lockable pins, I love those.
Sweet! You're right: it does go really well with your kam kit. Ya know, with the non-removable oem style scoop, that hood sorta reminds me of the c-one carbon fiber hood.
Nice!!
Oh yeah, one more thing.. locking pins are the way to go. That's what I've got (even though I haven't ordered my hood yet )
Hey, looks great man! I like the silver weave, it cums 2gether nicely. Get sum hood pins, diff color overlays, nd mayb consider the gunmetal rims... Good job Keep it goin!!
