I don't know if any normal person has swapped an engine out but the company Rod Millen did.

Oh yeah I think one other person is trying it, ut i can't remember where I read it.

Rod Millen Motorsports did the same swap(3S-GTE) only they have the HKS turbo upgrade and AWD thanks to a corvette rear axle. RMM spent upwards of $100,000 on that yellow ultimate celica. I talked to a RMM representative and he said that they have a motor/trans mating problem or something like that... because the 3S-GTE was designed for RWD/AWD vehicles.

yeah, 3sgte is an easy swap but it was designed for stronger chassis cars like the mr-2's..unlike the celica, swapping the 3sgte means upgrading all suspension system

good god would I love a 3S-GTE in my GTS. that would cost some serious cash.

In california, if you're going to do an engine swap... you need to find an engine that is made in the same year the car was or younger than the car due to smog laws.
