well i heard that, its because of a leak, i think it only happens after you wash your car...air gets into the lens through the rubber insert thingy...maybe just adjust and secure the rubber thing..thats my opinion
Arite Dave here is my solution. The best thing to do is go to a shop and have them re-seal the headlights by whatever means they can do, because there has to be a problem with that or the screws and whatnot. If they had to take the headlights off for it to be painted, then maybe it was their fault for not putting it back on right. Ask them to do it if that's the case, if not then go to a shop for sure fast!!
I got the exactly same problem, what i going to do is to open it, let it set and dry, and i will polish them before i put them together. DO NOT FORGET TO SEAL THEM GOOD!!!!!!!I am going to do it during the spring break. I might post up some Pics later on after i done that! Good luck on that bro.
my friend had his civic head light painted, and i think the guy who did the job pretty good... they uses auto glue(super sticky, almost like silicon..) to seal the light.
The guy at the shop got the grill for me. Bastard didn't put grills on the rear bumper man! Now I gotta drop the rear bumper & do it myself!!! Damn This is why I haven't posted new pics yet

blow drying it is not a good idea. more heat to this thing will make the it worst and turn the condensation to water probably. when you took it to a detail shop, the guy steam washed ur engine bay, the heated pressure does that to ur headlight. you cant blame the detail shop cz its not their fault that somethings wrong with ur headlight. this happens to some cars. wut you can do is take off the bulbs off the headlight unit and have ur car out for a fresh air. DO NOT have ur headlights on when doing this. trying it out morning and night. next day check it out. it probably will be gone. a few hours/days later ull find out if it really worked or not. if it didnt work, usually when you turn on ur headlight ull see the fogging thing again. if this dont work, then you have to open it, let it dry, clean it, and then reseal it with good amount of pressure. reasons why headlights have condensation problem is usually if the car has been hit before, or headlight damaged slightly, if you have opened the headlight unit before and havent sealed it well with good pressure, or just bad fabricated headlight. there are a lot of bad fabricated celica headlights out there, and if you have a type of warranty, you can get them to change it for u. good luck and let us know wut happens
i get worse condensation. to get rid of it i'll just keep my car out in the sun, take out the turn signal bulb and the small bulb and it goes away in an hour or so
Well it happened to me too. People said don't go with hair dryer but i did that, other people on the forum also suggested doing that. One disadvantage with hair dryer, when the lense starts heating up, the water start running so you need something to soak it up, i used a sponge it work ok not very well. you might want to find something that'll soak water but not leave so much behind becuz once you dry it it'll dry up and leave water mark inside. hard to get out. After i hair dry it i bought some "all-purpose silicon" at Home Depot for like $3. Seal all around the edge of the headlight, i should have gotten blak silicon, but got white and it doens't match with black car. hehehe.. But it's been 3wks now and no condensation anywhere and i washed my car like 3x already. So i hope that help.
i used all-purpose silicon too! it worked. it was white silicon. like that glue you use to hold the tiles in your bathroom or kitchen together. but it didn't stay white for me, it cleared up. so now it's like a clear rubbery substance surrounding all the openings of the headlight. no more fogging up for me. i painted my headlights during december. might i add, i should have waited for the spring. haha. and i had condensation for about two months. i just resealed mine yesterday actually. now you can actually see the black painted headlights. but yeah. silicon bathroom glue works too.
xmangt1, I'm not trying to sound like a jerk-ass, but did you make sure the rubber boot on the backside of the headlamp is securely in place. It is possible that when you changed the headlamp bulbs, the boot did not seal properly. This would allow moisture into the headlamp. and with the crappy weather we've been having, it can only add the problem. Just a suggestion.
