why do people put body kits on their celicas? they don't aid the car aerodynamically...in fact most of them subtract from the aerodynamics...b/c they think it looks good. their car, their mods.

a kit is one thing but hood scoop?! i just dont see the point.
please explain the difference...both are pure appearance mods for the celica, no.

Hey guys just to let you know I JUST GOT SPONSORED !!!
ok im done with you.
The real reason you dont want a scoop is because the more holes you put into you body the more noise you get less controll while cornering and if the scoops are accualy functional water will rust away your body mounts after awhile then your car begins to make speaky sounds that you will never find. trust me I know from experience.

the difference between getting a body kit for looks and getting a hood scoop for looks is, you NEED a front bumper. why not make it stylish? a hood scoop is just added weight from all that bondo. if its not a mid engine drive vehical its a waste of time and money. "oh i saw it on fast and the furious! i want it!" thats the attitude most people have these days and its sad.. once the movie comes out, i promise LanEvos will be selling like hot cakes. and maybe people will paint their cars pink like the s2000. think carefully what youre doing to your car!

please stop the arguement and stick to the topic,
Celica^2k1 is asking where to get Roof scoops for a 2001 Celica? , he is not asking opinions about what its goin to look like on a celica, rude opinions - just keep it to yourself coz its not your car, its his, he can do whatever he wants...

cmon guys, keep it cool cheers

by the way, its a personal preference and if he likes the roof scoop and put it on its mainly for cosmetics... thumbsup

now i think thats a dumb attitude to have... the fast and the furious.. however dumb the movie is.. has some pretty tight cars.. and the sequal thats coming out will too. they were made to show off a lot of new and old styles and mods that are out there. if someone sees it for the first time on that movie so what.. and if they really like it.. who the hell are we to say thats gay don't put that on ur car. about the hood scoop... not my thing, plus i have a sun roof, but shut up all you idiots who are sitting here bashing it. this forum is not here to gang up on people who have different ideas about what they like, its here to help them develop there ideas. and screw you all who post after me and bash me for sticking up for hood scoops... lol non funtional. you wanna talk about non funitional... new tail lights, overlays, practically anything you do to the interior... rims (sometimes). but whatever laterrr peace.

i agree, many things that are added on are for pure cosmetics, which i am sure most people do for there own tastes, not others [Razz] . also, he/she didnt ask your opinion on looks or taste, rather where to get the product. (and wouldnt an agressive hood scoop cool the exhuast manifold more?)

Finally the first logical post in this thread you beat me to it street proto I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder I just hope the car in question doesnt have a sunroof (that would be stupid) and it better be functional I cant stand apperance mod's that look funcional but thats all. Celica 2k1 do a search there is a thread from a while back that has the info your looking for.

a roof scoop on rally cars serves as an air circulator for inside the cabin and is filtered for those dusty times. BUT, why put it on a normal street car? for looks and no possible use. I mean the air could go inside the cabin and get things inside and also, some just stick on and others don't do anything except creat air resistance if there is no hole which some people don't do. In the fast and the furious, I don't know if that eclipse had a hole or not for it. Roof scoops look pretty nice if the car is hooked up good, but wtf is the purpose of it? It is for looks, but I think a body kit is more useful than a roof scoop. Don't confuse a hood scoop with a roof scoop either. Hood scoops are for top-mounted intercoolers, or as for the celica, no reason at all.

the hood scoop on our celica is very useful and has a purpose as well, it serves to cool down our headers which is very close to the firewall, for PPL who dont know about this, check whats under the hood scoop and the firewall cheers

Yea i know that, but I meant more of the true reason to a hood scoop, therefore a top-mounted intercooler. At least ours acutally lets air blow onto the engine, unlike some cars where it is just a bump in the hood with a solid grill there.

Roof Scoop: Give your car the look of the WRX rally cars with this hood scoop. Formed of hard fiberglas-reinforced plastic, it is easily paintable, and is easy to install, using one screw and adhesive. (Of course, unless you cut a hole in the roof of your car, this duct is for looks only.) Comes complete with mesh insert.

ONLY $99.00 AT...

Why is the roof scoop ricey?? and why is it ricey?? I kept seeing you people said that look ricey. Is that a lil asian stereotype shit? if it is, then since i'm asian i shoulda said crackery. rofl

BTW i'm all for look, i woulda buy that scoop too, but no money. And do you think the hood spoiler and roof spoiler looks nice?? or is it "ricey" as well?? I have a 5" tach even though i have an auto, it works too. It's my car, my choice so don't hate.
