Long story short, I got into it with a prelude, going about 120 we come up to a sharp down hill left turn so I get into the brakes for the turn and I get almost nothing. The brakes felt like they where grinding, didn't feel like the they where grabbing much at all. They got me down to 80 but it was very loose and sloppy, scared the shit out of me. Also generally speaking I get a ton of brake dust from these pads (should not do that) and squeaking from time to time.

I don't know if the "race" was to much for Green Stuff pads or what. I may need Red Stuff pads but they don't sound good for daily driving. Or I may just go back to OEM pads. Green Stuff brake great at normal speeds but above 100 they suck. Any thoughts?

Oh, and I know that "race" was stupid and I got very lucky (didn't me or the car hurt)!

confusedare they installed properly?
did you pump the brake paddle after you installed? (with the car running at idle)

cos ive been using it for a long time...and they stops quick i tells ya!

been from 120 - 50 or 60 sudden brakes...they work great...

yes there will be sqeakin because of the material...
and the brake dust, i think you would get many brake dust with any other performance pads also.

the red stuff are for track...they are recommand for daily driving.

u can try another brand pads: AXXIS

thumbsup thumbsup

EDIT: sorry, the red stuff is NOT recommand for daily driving.

sheesh, sometimes this place gets under my skin. If I post a pic of what rims I might get I would get 25 replies. Post a real question about a real performance part and you get two replies (not a dig on them), really sad. thumbsdown

TRD brake pads are what I have and they work very well. You should try them if you haven't already, although I've heard only good things about the EBC green stuff...

From what I understand, the green stuff brake pads DO put off a lot of dust - that's normal. As for them not working so well.. idunnohow long have you had them? They also tend to wear out quicker than stock pads. Maybe you should get a big brake kit if you plan on stomping the brakes at such high speeds. I doubt the stock brakes would've done any better going that fast..

The EBCs are around 3 weeks old, so they should be broken in. I've been checking reviews on other sites and the response seems mixed, some hate them, others have no problems.

I may go back to OEM or TRD. Not sure about TRD, I've heard there not much better than stock.

Yeah, this is disappointing, because I was going to get some green stuff pads soon. Now, I'm thinking TRD, but like you said, some people say they're hardly better than stock, so I dunno idunno

Don't get the EBCs, I'm going to give them some more time but I think I'm going to try and get my money back.
I think stock pads on Power slot or Brembo rotors may be the way to go.

if you're looking to stop well at those speeds, you need not only to upgrade your pads, but your rotors as well cool

I think I will give them some more time to be sure there good and broke in (that was the first hi speed stop for them), I am going to talk to EBC about getting my money back, if I don't get my money back I will use these until its time to change and then go with Axxis.

hey guys (Evan, Gen7fan) - just had springs, brake pads, and wheel alignment done at dealership.

TRD spring install - $78.72
TRD Brake Pads install - $43.20
alignment - $48.00

- brake pads feel good so far, excellent stopping power compared to stock. Springs are a little stiffer but fill out the wheel wells nicely imo thumbsup
