Celica Forums General Discussion General Custom Plate, yay or nay?

Okay, so on my last car I had a custom plate, but eventually outgrew it. Now I want one for the Celica, but can't find a good one that isn't taken. Last month I tried for just my name "J HUSE" on the cool beach background plate... Got a confirmation today in the mail that I can have it if I want. Should I do it, or not? I dont really care about the privacy issue, I just want to know if it looks cheezy on a Celi or not.

i wouldnt do it... i like how CA license plates are hard to remember... that way people cant easily find you or rat you out for something.

I have one. But don't get one that says a name. Get something that means something to you, that the average Joe doesn't/won't understand.

Alright...the deal with personal plates...easily remembered.

Mine says LUNAT1C...I have been pulled over by State b/4 and she knew my car...the plates were easy to remember!! I have been told by many cops that I should change it!

Get something difficult like I11I1I1...Who can remember that with one glance???? Mix up 1's and I's!!!!

I prefer just the normal plates. I can't see paying extra for something so miniscule

I have never really cared for a custom plate for myself...the only thing I would want is a different pic on my plate. Fl has atleast 50 different ones to choose from...I kind of like the "save the manatee" one since it is grey it goes better with my car, then the "save the panther" plate

Really I took it because it was available and I had been trying to get it for a few years now. As soon as I get my RWD car, it's getting transfered because FWD don't drive, they slide. For more info on what drift is and the different types, plus why FWD cars slide not drift go to this website.

On my old car, I had IHTFC.
It stood for "I hate this fuckin car". So many people asked what it stood for and I would just laugh! My friend Jeff had CJEFFLY. He totaled the car the day he put the plate on. Guess it was bad luck.

the good thing (and only one of the few things) about louisiana is that we only have a population somewhere around 2.5 mil (and out of those few, a VERY few have custom plates). cali has what? a population of 34 million? even though theres still a small percentage of californians with custom plates..that small percentage wouldnt suprise me if it was more than the population of la.

Hey, sorry to dig up an old thread, but I had two ideas I'm pondering here. Just thought I'd get input.

My favorite band (one of them) is The Used... my last name is Huse... had a friend say "hey, you should get 'HUSED' on your plate." Just thought that one was a little clever.

Other idea is the classic obvious statement, "RED GTS".

So I'll either get one of those, or I'll just stick to the plate I already requested a month ago with my name on it. Just want something a little custom, since here in Cali you're stuck with a front plate (I know- my family has four tickets for it )
