I just installed an Injen Short Ram Intake on a 2003 Celica GTS and it sounds perfect while your driving. But it does not make that Pssssttt... sound when you turn the car off. I know it's supposed to from reading other forums. All of my friend's Short rams do. Why doesn't mine? Please help me with this, I'm going crazy trying to get it right. That is one of the main resons I bought the Injen Short Ram Intake.

wow! hmm, lemme think, no, i don't think i've heard of this problem. i have gone thru 4 or 5 different Intakes and all of different brands, trying to find the best one and i never had this problem. it should make that noise if you didn't do everything right. basically when you tap the gas it sucks in air and that's the sound you hear (Psssst). all i can suggest is to check ur connections at the throtle body and make sure the filter clamp is also tight. you might not have put that part on right and thus there is no vacum effect. this is what i think perhaps someone else has a more concrete suggestion.

Exactly right, the Intake is good while driving, sounds tight as hell ... When you turn the car off, it's normal. The Intake does not exhale air for that PSSSSSTTTT sound. Any more ideas. Thanks in advance.

Did you read the post man... It sounds good when driving. The filter is on good. When you turn the car off, you don't hear the PSSTTT sound, the exhale sound. Why not. Please help.

Nevermind, found problem. The 03 GTS has electronic throttle control. Every other freaking car except mine has a cable driven throttle. When you turn the car off on cable driven cars, AKA everyone but mine, the Intake valve/butterfly closes slowly given you that PSSSTTT sound letting the air out. Electronic Throttle contol just turns off instantly with no exhale. Damn it...
