Hi, I'm new around here and from Autralia. I got my '00 Celica ZR (which is the same as the US Spec GTS plus a few standard bits - 6 disc in dash, stock sunroof, 16" rims standard - better than the US GTS) December last year, and I'm looking at putting a Cold Air Intake on it. I have seen on this board numerous people using the Injen and AEM intakes with success, has anyone had any experience with the K&N Typhoon Cold Air intake?
I like the look of the silver powdercoated one as the color is almost the same as the intake runners on the 2ZZ-GE - ie looks pretty stock.
What about the I-M-Racing cold air intake - it's really cheap (US$129.00) and looks basically the same as all the other intakes.
Also, does anyone have any experience ordering parts internationally? Not many online retailers seem that enthused...
Thanks in Advance,
Fletcher

Injen. That's my opinion. I'm sure they will ship anywhere in the world. This will cost more of course. Add at least 100-200 U.S. dollars to the price of that Intake you quoted.

Manual. Of course.
In Australia, there are 2 'levels' of Celica, SX and ZR. Both come with the 2ZZ-GE (we only get the 1ZZ-GE in the Corolla and MR2S). The SX is the same as the US spec GTS and the ZR has all the options you can get on a celica (except for the action package bodykit) standard. The price difference is about A$5K (about US$3500 at the moment).
In Australia, the Celica is seen as a bit of a hairdressers car as the ST185 and ST205 both had the 5S-FE Camry motor in them. People didn't really wake up to the fact it shaved 200Kg and gained 40Kw. Oh yeah, and the aussie spec celicas are 140KW (190hp) from the factory. Unfortunately, there isn't a big tuning market in Australia for them - so it's a bit hard to get stuff for them.

welcome, psychofox. aem and injen are the most popular brands and provide the best results. aem has better torque response in the lower rpms and pretty much matches injen in the higher hp area. we all know that the celica is not known for torque so i personally went with aem and even an associate went from injen to an aem knock-off because he wanted better low end power. enjoy the ride (in the celica and import scene)

there are many different options for Intake. All of those will give you same gain and same structure shape. i'll go with injen or aem, since they have better finish and better fitment. and they are very reliable so choice is yours

Thanks Guys. Now I just have to work out where to get them in Aus, or if worst comes to worst, from the states. It will kill me with shipping though...
