I was wondering if any one has tried to paint the bulbs behind the ac knobs after you cut the rubber off any color blue i seen the install guide for changing the led on the stereo and ac to amber orange but was wondering if any celi owners have tried this but with a clear blue paint any help would be appreciated chao... thanks... twm , fr. oregon..usa..
it would probably just burn off...just go to pep boys and get another rubber cover...they are cheap
yeah, just get the condoms - it's easier
be careful which 'condoms' you use. like the ones that go around the bulb from autozone i heard didnt work. the concescus at the time was that the condoms didnt work very well, but then someone found some thinner ones (not sure what brand/size) and said they worked fine.
the paint is a very interesting idea...never heard of that and its very creative
it actually may be worth a try, you might need to use the high heat variety (not sure, because led's do not burn nearly as hot as regular light bulbs do), but just to be safe i would (unless someone with experience says otherwise that normal paint will do fine.)
obviously you wouldneed to make the coats very light.
i'm not sure how well it would work though, paint is not very transparent and it seems to me that the light that does pass through would be the light that passes through the small 'holes' in the paint job and therefore would be unaffected by the color. on the other hand, it may work jsut fine and be both cheaper and more hassle free than buying/changing leds. (more complicated than using the 'condoms' though and probably just as expensive--$5)
lemme know if you find some. i've been interested in this for a while and i've visited 3 places so far (autozone, wal-mart, target) and havnt found blue yet. all i see is red.
i guess i have to go try looking at an arts & craft store maybe? worth a try.

it's much better/easier if you use tape. i'm sure you could do it with plastic just as well though.
i tired every possible way and i cant get it to work. I think when my car was broken into and the dash was jacked up, may have something to do with it though
