Celica Forums General Discussion General 2004 or 2005 Celica?

would you guys rather get a 2004 Celica or 2005 one?? Because I'm in that situation where i need to choose one.. The 2004 Celica looks hella tight and all, and seeing the 2005 concept one, i'm feeling the car and all, just not the design.. So, which would you guys pick?

i dont like the design of the celica concept too, so ima say get the 04

No real pics have been released of an '05, so I say get the '04

I happen to think that the '05 will turn out nice...like many have said...the crappy looking xyz (think that was the name) turned out to be the car we all love...7th generation celica.

I STILL don't get what anyone had against the XYZ. The pictures of it looked like our car with different wheels on it. No real change from that concept to production.

Anyway, I'm saying the 2005. Even though every Toyota of late has been fugly, it's gotta get better eventually... and hopefully with that car.

id never get a new car with a pending body change. if your going to get an 04 then just get a used 7th gen and save some $$ unless your rich then get what ever you like not what other people like

go 04 and hope for swapablitaty with the o5 engine.

neither right now because there are no facts on the 05...you don't know it's going to look like that.

thats what I would do...cuz no real concrete info is really out for the 05 celica as of yet

while i do like the 7th gen design over the 8th gen concepts which have been floating around, it's never a good idea to buy a brand new car that will be outdated within the next year..you will lose much more money when resale time comes.

this doesnt mean don't buy a 7th gen celica, it just means i suggest you buy a used 7th gen if the 8th gen doesnt please you.

whenever a new generation of a model car is introduced, the value of the previous generations falls just because of the new model. so it doesnt make sense to spend a lot of money, just to lose more than what normal depreciation would allow for.

Well the '05 was rumored to have what.. 300hp or so? I don't believe that will ever be.

ive been hearing that the hp was going to be either 240 or 300.
