what if instead of buying the brashboy engine dampener you used a metal rod and fabricated two end pieces one for the engine mount and the other to attach to the frame...what do you think would happen to the car...

it would be very solid and hold the engine in place very well, but it would cause an extremely annoying vibration thougout the entire car. you would be able to feel your engine idle and it would def. vibrate the car at take off. this would be too stiff for comfort, and may cause unusual wear to certain parts of the chasis. the Brashboy damper has a shock to atleast absorb the more violent vibrations, a direct rod could be devastating.

hmmm, killerm made a similar torque brace that i never kept on. it made the car vibrate TOO much and i've heard stories of problems. i just installed skreemin_trdgts motor mount and wheel hop is pretty much gone.

do i only need one of the motor mounts or do i need all three mounts on a stock engine? only the 1 in front then. bill (skreemin) prototyped a rear and he said it caused an annoying vibration. you can also go generic and get some polyurethane mixture from tap plastics (can't recall the type but it's 2 types you mix in equal parts) but there could be issues with durability in the long run. bills were part solid and part polyurethane. well worth it (he's over at nc in "want to sell" if you wanna check out the thread)
