I'm debating between buying my rims and tires seperately or just going with the wheel/tire package...

Since a lot of you guys have already bought the no-name tires with your wheels as a package, what is your advice? Are you sorry you went with the package or are you glad because it saved you some money?

Ya but Kumho tires are good. I think hes talking about no name brands. I plan to get a wheel and tire package. If you don't like the rubber they come with, buy new ones and use the crappy ones during the winter when you won't be racing.

Yeah I'm waiting to see what brand they are, I already emailed them but I'm assuming they're no-name since they didn't actually state the brand. idunno

i personally wouldnt go with no-brand tires...

unless you are driving like under speed limit all the time when you are on the wheels.

just to get a peace of mind with brand name tires..
they can save ur life or money sometimes. wink

Yeah, I would definitely not go really cheap with tires. If they blow out while you're doing 70 on the highway.. iamstfu

yeah, if you buy a package you might be able to upgrade the tires for a little more money...I bought a package recently and they said they came with Federal Mogoul tires...which have a decent safety rating, but not for speed...so I asked if I cold upgrade, and they let me go Khumo's for like $100 more...

I had "Visa" tires on my last car. Not good. Everytime there was ANY rain I would spin my wheels at every green light, and I could feel my backend coming loose in turns. Plus the whole car just felt sloppy... and that was compared to stock rubber.

Buying cheapo tires is like training for a year to run a marathon, then doing it in flip-flops.

Hey thanks. I went to discount tire today and their cheapest "good brand" tires were like $100-$115 a piece.

Guess I need to save a little more money laughsilly

Save up money and get some Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 or BF Goodrich T/A KDW. These tires are REALLY GOOD in both the wet and dry weather. Kuhmos aren't even in the same category as these. They will run circles around Kuhmos and Yokohama AVS ES100's.
