Ok this may sound dumb, but the idiots at Firestone told me that you need an alignment when you get new rims/tires. Is this true? I've never heard of this...

Well you do need to get ur speedometer checked bcuz it may be off by a couple miles depending on how big/small you go in rim size.

Well.. if the radius of the wheel (Not just rims) is different compare to your old wheels, most likely you will need an alignment...
P.S.Correct me if I'm wrong.

yea, the diamiter of the rim doesnt have any impact on the caster/camber/toe/all that other stuff. a bigger rim will however make it so that you spedometer will say that your going slower than you really are

No, it means you need your tires balanced properly.

Take them somewhere else to be balanced.

If your car was out of alignment, you would drift to one side while driving in a straight line. Does that happen? Or is it just the shaking at high speed?

it shakes at high speeds and sometimes will tweak off but to different sides of the road, the guy said that is normal with low pro tires but im concerned mainly about the shaking and what the problem is

Typically, if you're out of alignment you go to one side or the other.. but not both.

Weird confused
