So im driving south on I5 takining the WA HW 16 exit. (where you could either take 38th street to goto the tacoma mall, or to the right towards TCC) i was to the right in the left lane.

The Black Corvette (if i ever find you angry ) Cut off the 1974 Beetle who then slammed on his brakes (its wet and rainyish lol wa weather) and i then slammed on my brakes barly hitting the beetle(around 15-20mph). right after i hit him the big red truck hit me (going 50mph). My bumper is broke to hell and i will probably need a right light. the rear is where its all fucked up, im gonna need a whole new rear bumper, Spoiler, and hatch. also my car makes funny sounds when i hit bumps in the road.

On the other hand i DIDNT put my WW front and Kam sides on, as i planned to today. so they arent fucked up! Maybe i can claim i had a TRD rear...

I think i have whiplash, and i have a big bruise on my hands?!? on top of that i got a $153 ticket for following too close, which is bs because i wasnt. the guy who hit me also got a ticket.

just know that the final cost of everything will probably be a lot more then your first guestimate.
(i had an accident too)

things that you dont even think about break and need to be replaced. some parts are hella expensive for what they are . . .

I don't know about where you live but here it doesn't matter why the person in front of you stopped if you hit them from behind you were following to close and you get slapepd with a ticket.

I've never heard of anybody getting out of it.

There was one time that a friend of mine pulled out in front of somebody and got rear-ended. He got a fine for "disrupting the flow of traffic" but yeah...most of the time the person who did the rear-ending gets in trouble. thumbsdown

Well true I got slightly rear ended because of oil on theroad and nobody got a ticket and we both had to deal wit hthe damage.

I had minor scratches no big deal. I wasn't mad though because I had just lossed control myself in the middle of turn and almost went head on into the firebird in the other lane. Idiot was beeping at me and at last second finnalyl got as far over as he could. GUy behind me loss control to we get out and the road was coveredi n oil. Was glad to know I wouldnt of got in trouble if I had hit that guy head on.

Sorry to hear that man. I can't stress how important it is to keep a safe distance away from the car in front of you. I know it's easier said than done. I also can't stress how important it is to have a good set of brake pads. If I didn't have ABS, I would have had a real bad accident.

ouch dude...glad you're okay (for the most part)...I work in a law firm, and we deal with that kind of stuff everyday...sorry to hear about your car too...and BTW...if you do decide to sue you'll go after his insurance carrier, not him (your mom's friend can elaborate on that)...at worst what will happen is they'll cancel his insurance on him...that's what we pay our insurance for..so you might want to re think things...just my 2 cents

Update..
Car is in the shop should be out on friday or saturday..The cost comes to $7,062, thats some crazy shit. i didnt think it would be that much, but maybe they charged me for the action package front:). i tried to get them to quote me a Rear Valence and they werent too happy. But i did get the 2003 Trunk Garnish!! I had the choice to either get a hatch with A spoiler or no spoiler, it was a very tough decision and i chose to go with the spoiler because im getten Carbon_blues custom one...
well we will see her when shes done!
Im saposed to take 5 days off of work, but i need money!

it's always like that...even if someone hit you and forced you into another vehicle you'll get ticketed for 'following to close' because supposedly your supposed to have enough distance between the two cars to prevent hitting the car in front of you rofl rofl

glad your ok for the most part though, hope you don't feel too sore for long. DON'T tell them what you didn't have on, that's just wrong and if they prove otherwise you can be sued (they'll take pics of your damaged parts anyway, so it would be pointless to try).

i dont know how police can write citiations like following too close, if they werent there to see if, if it was wet and the guy infront of you stopped, and you couldnt stop off course your going to slide and hit him... they should recreate it and see if they would have slid into the car infront of them... if not then they can write the ticket, if they do slide and hit something, then they can take a look at what happend... 153 isnt much, but you should take it to court, you dont even need a lawer, just state your case and say what happend... even include the part about the vette... and show your bruses, and bring pictures of your front... (if its not fucked up too bad) or the VW's rear to show, that when you were hit... you were already stopped right behind the vw because you slid...and not because you had stopped 5 feet from the bug then was hit by the truck and rammed into the vw... if you got the insurance info from the vw, i bet he wouldnt mind you taking pictures of his "rear" for a court case...

Easy, because if you were following at a safe distance [they would argue], you'd have plenty of time to stop, even if the person in front of you slammed on his brakes.

Remember from driver's ed.: one car length for every 10 miles an hour..

that means, at 70, you should be following AT LEAST 7 car lengths behind the person in front of you.

It may not be practical, but that's how it goes idunno

True about that rule, the funny thing is though i was goin 20 in a 40 and i was about 2 cars lengths away from the VW. im not gonna get a lawyer or anything and im going to court pretty soon! good idea about the VW and pics tho!
