Anyone have pics of JDM celicas, if they make it, and what's the difference between JDM and USM.

Ummmm. Right side driver...differnt ECU tuning. They use 100+ octane gas over there. not much else that I can think of...I am sure there are probably other things though.

Over 100 in the same engine? Is that Premium over here in the U.S? Last time I heard higher the octane the less likely the explosiveness + cleaner gas but that's all. So Premium isn't always good if you don't need it.

jdm just means 'japanese domestic market'. therefore, a jdm celica is just a celica that is sold in japan.

the differences between jdm and american spec celicas are numerious, but the most basic are steering wheel on the opposite side, revised front lip, lcd dash, climate control, retuned ecu.

to answer the gas octane rating question: japanese gas is usually much higher octane (up to 108) while american premium gas is about 93 octane. the higher octane gas means fuel burns more efficiently (broken down easier) and increases power slightly. to take advantage of the cleaner burning fuel, all jdm spec cars have different ecu programming to take advantage of this and the cars run better as well as more powerful thumbsup

it's the same engine, but it runs better because of the higher octane gas in the japanese market..so the ecu is retuned to take advantage of that thumbsup
