Hello, I got this problem going for some weeks and now it is worse than ever. About a month ago i was feeling the car lifitng very late(from 7krpm instead of 6K), though this did not always happen. Now my car almost never lifts and i feel like having 140bhp instead of 192. Do you think it is the LIFT BOLT problem? How can i know? Please help cos i am very sad about it ![frown frown](https://celicahobby.com/forums/images/graemlins/celica/frown.gif) BTW...Are the TRD spark plugs and air filter much better in Hp gain than stock? Thanks a lot Cable

Thanks guys, I just forgot to say that it still revs till 8k but i get no power difference after 6k. Power is just almost the same through the whole band.
If it is a lift problem does i rev till 8k2 or 7k(revs as if it is cold).

it's your lift bolts. pm luck_317 if you want anymore info. he replaces lift bolts often and can tell you what you need to do ![thumbsup thumbsup](https://celicahobby.com/forums/images/graemlins/celica/thumbsup.gif) also, there not technically called lift-bolts, its just a term we use so i wouldn't recommend asking toyota for 'lift bolts' because they probably will shrug their shoulders. pm lucky and ask what you need and possibly the part #s

it sounds like you completely broken them. you shouldve changed them when you had the problem at first. difference is now they have to look for bolt parts in ur engine just instead of replacing worn out ones. if doing it at dealer, cash few of ur paychecks. let us know wut happens

I noticed today that my lift didn't come in a few times (the car was warm), and I tried it later in the day, and it kicked in where it was supposed to.
Is it just my imagination, or are my bolts fucked? You would think that if there was a problem with the bolts, that it wouldn't work at all, and not just every once in a while.
Is it all in my head?

Is it all in my head? how warm was your engine? (where was the 'needle'?)the thing i don't like about digital temp gauges is that they are very innacurate. so if your digital needle had just jumped up to warm, it may not be warm enough. if your needle was in the middle (as it is when you're fully warm), THEN you have a problem.

I had been driving for at least 15 minutes, so my temp gauge was at the highest point, before the overheating point. In other words, it was as warm as it should be. It revved past the 6k, all the way to about 7k, and there was no change in power like lift brings, and it only cut off after I decided to let off the gas. I'm going to be leaving soon, so I'll try it again, and post back later.

i have a 2000 GTS as well though i tried to redline my car, but the kick doesn't really come in until third gear.
For the first two gears, it felt as if the lift bolt is broken yet when I push it while it's in third, i can actually feel it kick.
is it possible that my bolt are damaged but not broken? or are they just broken?
