i have the side vents... now i put a grill on the hole but also a sheet of thin rubber on the back just in case water might leak inside..but i also seen that other side vents have no grill or nothing..what would happen if i take out the thin layer..would the water go inside the car through the side vents if it rains aand would that affect the car??? thanx

i have the nsx air duct on my car, but i cap mine in the back so no water will come in the quarter panel. if water gets in it might rust. here's a pic if you need to look.

I also think that rust is going to be your biggest concern. Especially if it's from the inside. You could get the style that SevenMod has. Or you could Try to devise a way where no water would get in contact with metal. Any thing is possible.

use an aluminum grill it wont rust
