Is it illeagal to install a neon undercar kit? Or is it illeagal to turn it on on the road? If I turn it on on the parking lot or mall, will I get caught by police?

i have heard that only red, blue and white are illegal because they are the colors used by emergancy vechicles. but i am not sure. some one clarify this please
It really depends on the cop. I have red neons and have never had a problem. I know that you are not supposed to be able to see the tube. Because that is considered external lighting. Also they should not strobe or blink.
It IS illegal to have them on while you are on the road. But not if you are parked or at a car show. I used to live in PA and some inspection shops won't pass your car b/c it's illegal. PA laws suck.

Ya, like he you said it is ILLEGAL to drive with them on, but as long as you are parked then its LEGAL.
Actually...all colors are legal except the color blue since its an emergency color and you can be running them when you are driving (all but blue)...thats for florida at least ive gotten 2 tickets already for my blue streetglows and i asked the cop which colors are illegal he said only blue i asked him if red or white were illegal and he responded by saying arent ur brake lights red and ur reverse lights white you have red lights all over you car and white lights...So for florida at least blue is the only color you cant have on
Someone from Cali needs to answer this because this law varies from state to state. In SC it's illegal to have any red or blue light on your car (except for brake lights).
it's not illegal to have undercar neons it is illegal to have them on while moving on public property it's not illgal to ahve them on while moving on private property (this includes malls, wal-mart, etc.) although a cop will probably ask you to turn them off anyway.
I given up on finding the laws. Just think of it as a grey area of the law. There are nothing really definate about it. If you have red or blue and drive on public streets you are just running a higher risk of being pulled over. Some cops dont give while others see it as an easy ticket. So whatever just my 2 cents.
i am a cop in ohio. my advice is to not use the color blue, and make sure that the bulb itself cant be seen. secondly you may just want to keep them off until you get to private property. you want to check with your local law enforcement due to the fact that laws can differ from city to city. cities usually make ordances to mandate things such as loudness of radio, tint, and neons.

Knowing the path and choosing the path are two different things.
here in Nebraska is about the same as everywhere else. Illegal to have on while driving but not when parked. I wouldn't recommend Blue, Red. Cuz they draw too much attention, you get notice more. I had a purple kit on awhile back and nothing happened to me. Now i'm goin with a "Black 'n Blue" scheme for my car. Car is black so everything else would be blue. Don't think i'll be getting undercar kit..They look nice but otherwise, i'm more focus on Performance then show. just IMO.
