So what does it take? looks of the ride? Performance?who you know? how much you have invested in your ride? the ride has to be stock? if anyone really knows please let us know becuase atleast I have no fucking clue

companies will sponsor you if it will work out to their advantage.
they basically invest in a person or team in hopes that by sponsoring them they'll get their name brand out and/or get more customers in the process. if the advertising/name recognition that they get from the sponsorship is worth the invetsment they make on you, then you're usually good to go.
also know that you have competition. if a sponsor can choose between candidate #1) which has track records or a lot of show trophies or #2) street racer that not that many people know, the sponsor will choose #1.
