cost for a cone filter is between $40 to $55 - depending if you are buying genric or K&N... check your local Pepboys/Autozone/Napa...etc

normal cost on a standard flat filter is from $5 to $20

AEM makes their own filters? I thought they used K&N? confused

Anyways, get a K&N Filter (if one fits). It's washable and reusable (up to 25x), so you won't ever have to buy another $50 filter. You would only need to service it every 50K miles with their cleaning kit.

What is the diameter of the AEM pipe? I think it should be 2 3/4", but correct me if I am wrong. I can get some pretty good prices on K&N Filters, but it depends on the size needed.

For 2 3/4" I have the following. Price includes ground shipping:

K&N
Round Tapered Filter w/ Rubber End Cap - $30-37 (MSRP $40-50)
Round Tapered Filter w/ Chrome End Cap - $40-48 (MSRP $55-67)
Round Tapered Filter w/ Metal End Cap - $47 (MSRP $66)
Anodized Round Tapered Filter w/ Inverted Cone Filter Top - $55 (MSRP $80)
X Stream Round Tapered Filter - $60 (MSRP $85)

If this is not the right diameter for your application, please let me know what you need and I will get you pricing. Also note MSRP's above do not include shipping.
