I have a yellow gt. I am thinking of painting my brake calipers red. Has anyone seen pics of this color combo? Does it look good? I could not find any pics of yellow celicas w/ red calipers.

Any suggestions on a better color?

IMO, it reminds me of mcdonalds.. red and yellow. But if you like it, that's what counts.

As for an alternative suggestion: paint them yellow to match the car smile

I'd suggest yellow, too. Have you had your break today?

yeah dude, freakin musturd and ketchup. personnally red and yellow is a horrible combo, but its up to you. my suggestion i guess would be chrome, or a lil darker blue. something like that

thanks. good point, now that I think of it, red and yellow would really look terrible. I like the idea of chrome. I think it will be chrome or yellow.

Thanks for the input. Any particular high temp paint I should use, or just whatever crappy tire has in at the time??

Edit: crappy tire, forgot this is a US majority site... crappy tire = canadian tire... local auto shop...

I used this paint on my last car, and it turned out great! I've heard other people say they just used high temp engine paint, but I also knew someone personally who used that type of paint and had it crack and peel.

Here's the link to the kind I used.. and they have it in yellow or silver, lucky for you!

I would go with yellow, unless your rims are yellow.

I think red would look fine. The calipers are already silver (sorta). Red won't look like McDonalds, give me a break. They're just calipers.

well, if I can find gun metal or a dark grey, I think I will go with that. Just silver would not be very noticable.

Yellow might look a bit strange, because it would be very hard to find even a close match. The yellow would look more like the sunfire mustard yellow...

i work in a paint store and so i deal with a lot of different colors, and let me tell you... yellows are the hardest, most deceiving colors to match. getting a yellow the EXACT same color would be very difficult unless you get it straight from toyota (somehow)...i hate yellows (to match)...they suck...heres a trick to try... look at a yellow chip indoors, flourescent or incandescent lighting, and take it outside into natural (UV) light. completely different...

I say go with silver rims. Paint the calipers black gloss. Use black as your secondary color. May be bumble bee kinda but thats better than Ronald McDonald.

ok, I am torn between black and a dark grey. I will have to see which of these I can get in my area. Yellow would be hard to match.

Black won't show up very well either. If you want it to be noticed, go with red. It won't look bad, and if you think it does, then redo it. No big deal.
