The Injen will come with it's own install instructions and those directions are a good visual reference and starting point. Because it is a GT and GTS there is going to be small differences but not much. Maybe a mounting location or something.

Yeah depends on how fast you work, and mechanically inclined you are .. it could take between 1-3 hours. I've heard it both ways...take the front bumper off or don't ... I think you could probalby just remove the wheel and inner plastic liner. [ 04-30-2003, 07:44 AM: Message edited by: RicePowered ]

I did not have fun installing my CAI the first time. But I have taken it off before and put it back on twice as fast as before. You can do it without taking the bunper off, but if you remove the bumper you will have more room. Unless you take the wheel well plastics off, I have not done that and I do not know how much room it will give you. You need the working room in order to cut the splash guards for fitment. The second time I took my intake off, I just peeled the wheel well plastic back and slid the filter in that way, I noticed that it would be much more difficult to cut the splash guard, but will also save you the amount of time taking the bumper off. So it just depends on which route you go. Hope that helps. Good luck

Sara you should have someone help you. You should also have the tools you need. May I suggest a SHARP knife to cut the wheel well and ECU cooling tube.. A flashlight or shop light wont hurt also... I used the "Miracle Blade" as seen on TV in those infomercials to cut the wheel well. Also, print out this set of instructions to help you with the install. https://celicahobby.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=000018 [ 04-30-2003, 10:02 AM: Message edited by: Steven ]

You need a good teacher/buddy looking over your shoulder. My step-bro has been a mechanic for the past 7 yrs and it took him 2 hrs, plus cigarette breaks. Good luck, though.

I'll be honest with you guys, even though the header took a good 3 hours for the install, it was easier than the intake. For some reason I was just really nervous putting on the intake cause I lost track with the hoses and relocations stuff. The intake took me a good 2 hours to put on.

Use Ecelica's install on the intake and use the instructions that came with the intake. I did that and it helped a lot since you have two instructions to work from and pics and stuff. You will get it don't worry.

I love how every post Sara puts up here, somehow turns this place into a bunch a teenage guys in a locker room talkin' and dreaming about the ultimate fantasy chick.. reminds me of the younger days.
I can just see these guys with visions of Sara in a B-ball cap, with a little smudge of grease on her face (although Still with perfect makeup), with her white low cut t-shirt soaked in sweat tucked tightly into her cutoff (too cut off) jeans shorts, making little grunting noises as she leans over her engine (in her spiked heels of course), working with that big metal pipe ... uhm.. think I'll go find the wife... honey????? (leaves the computer...).. [ 04-30-2003, 10:02 PM: Message edited by: FX-MAN ]

The way things are going... this thread would be in "Anything Goes" in no time. And I won't even comment on the "big metal thingy". Is it some sort of metaphor?

I usually check the porn and then come here. Perhaps after reading this post it should be the way around.
Also, are we hoping on pictures of Sara's car and intake, or just Sara? Hmmmm...

Just make sure you disconnect the battery while you are doing it. If the check engine light comes on after you install it, disconnect the battery again for a few minutes. That should take care of it. But if the light comes back on, somethin is messed up.

Yea sara I was just kidding! Just follow the directions closely, A friend of mine (female) once asked me to take a look at her car 92 eclipse GSX, I forget what she said was wrong with it but she mentioned cleaning the K&N filter a few days prior. So I pop the hood and I see her MAF(mass air flow sensor) sitting their with no filter attached. I asked her where it was and she pointed to it in the garage, with a "I needed to put that back on, huh?" look on her face. Good luck and let us know how you like it! (no I dont mean that the same way RicePowered would!)
